Arsenal star a ‘major doubt’ for crucial Man City clash
Arsenal star Petr Cech is a major doubt for our crucial showdown with Manchester City at the Emirates after the international break.
Cech was forced off shortly before half-time during Saturday’s disastrous 3-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion after tweaking his calf muscle while attempting a clearance.
The 34-year-old had just minutes earlier made a superb stop to keep the scores level at 1-1 when he called to the bench for treatment but he was eventually replaced by David Ospina.
Arsene Wenger confirmed after the game that Cech had suffered a calf strain and although he refused to put a timescale on his recovery, our No.1 was immediately considered as a doubt to face Man City.
We welcome Pep Guardiola’s men to north London on Sunday April 2nd and it looks like Cech could end up missing the game as injury analyst Ben Dinnery has claimed that he’s still being assessed but remains a ‘major doubt’ to face City.
He said on Twitter:
Petr Cech is still being assessed but the Arsenal goalkeeper remains a major doubt for the game against Man City on April 02. #AFC

It would be a huge blow if Cech was ruled out as while he’s not been in his best form for much of the season, he’s still a MUCH better goalkeeper than Ospina – as the Colombian proved with another howler for the crucial second goal on Saturday.
I would have no confidence in Ospina playing in such a vital game against City as we desperately need to pick up all three points if we’re to stay in touch with the top four.
We head in to the international break six points off fourth place having lost four of our last five games so I pray Cech makes a swift recovery as we need him between the sticks when City come to town next weekend.

Cech has been not at his best. This is expected due to a poor defence
and advancing age. His reflexes aint as sharp as before.
As for the fm,unless he changes his tactical style, the gunners will continue to lose. All teams have to is cede possession and let the gunners overplay and hit on the counter.
He cant even beat lowly Watford which shows how far Arsenal have
declined.
I believe if Arsenal cant get a qualifying berth for the cl berth, despite what he says, and lose to MC in the sf,he win finally go
