Ramsey & The Ox Start: My starting XI to take on Norwich

We get back to domestic action this weekend as Arsene Wenger takes his squad to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City on Sunday afternoon. This is the side I’d select for the game.

Goalkeeper: Cech

Petr Cech should start in goal, obviously.

Defence: Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal

I’d like to see Gabriel come back in to the side this weekend. The Brazilian has been unfortunate to see so little first team football of late so I think he deserves a run out against Norwich with Mertesacker the man to make way.

Otherwise we should stick with our first choice defence meaning Koscielny, Bellerin and Monreal should retain their places.

Midfield: Cazorla, Ramsey

The injury to Coquelin is obviously a devastating blow, but if there is a silver lining then it’s that Arsene now has the opportunity to play Ramsey back in a central position.

I am not a fan of him playing on the wing and while I appreciate he’s not a defensive midfielder by any stretch, Rambo alongside Cazorla has the potential to be an excellent partnership IF they have the discipline to make it work.

Even if they don’t click straight away, Ramsey has to be a better long-term option than Flamini!

Attack: Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Sanchez

We’ve finally had some positive news on the injury front with Oxlade-Chamberlain returning to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury and I’d like to see him start on the wing.

Campbell was in great form against Zagreb in midweek so it wouldn’t be a bad shout for him to retain his place but I think The Ox gives us another dimension and he needs game time.

Sanchez is expected to overcome a minor hamstring problem but if there is any doubt over him, I’d leave him out and play The Ox and Campbell on the wings. Ozil should start in the No.10 role, obviously.

Striker: Giroud

With Walcott and Welbeck still unavailable the boss has little option but to stick with Giroud up front. I thought he looked knackered in midweek so ideally he’d get a rest but we don’t really have that option right now.
