The FA have confirmed that Gabriel has been charged with improper conduct while Santi Cazorla has been warned about his behaviour following their dismissals against Chelsea on Saturday.

Gabriel was silly enough to react to Diego Costa’s bullsh*t and get himself sent off for a slight kick-out at the striker following a lengthy altercation just before half-time.

The Brazilian was understandably incensed that he was the one being sent to the stands and has now been slapped with an improper conduct charge for his behaviour.

The incident happened after Costa had first slapped, then elbowed, Koscielny in the head [watch the incidents here] and thankfully the FA have some common sense as they’ve charged the Chelsea man with violent conduct.

He’s now set to be banned for three games, which doesn’t really help us or get the 1-3 points back that we would have got had the striker been rightfully sent off at the weekend, but at least this will piss Mourinho off.

The not-so funny thing is, Gabriel is likely to serve a LONGER ban than Costa in the end as he’s facing the prospect of a three-game ban for the sending off and a possible 1-game extension for this improper conduct charge.

The FA have also taken the strange decision to reprimand Cazorla for his behaviour following his late sending off. I honestly don’t have a clue what Santi did wrong other than walk off the pitch but obviously it was enough to warrant a ticking off from the muppets at the FA.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been slapped with a charge of failing to control their players following the fracas at Stamford Bridge. I’m pretty sure there’s not much ‘Arsenal’ could have done to prevent the players from kicking off. Surely it’s the job of the referee to control the players on the pitch?

Anyway, here is the FA’s statement which was released this afternoon:

Following the game between Chelsea and Arsenal on Saturday [19 September 2015], The FA has taken the following disciplinary action.

Diego Costa has been charged for an alleged act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video. The Chelsea forward was involved in an incident with Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny in the 43rd minute of the game. He has until 6pm tomorrow [Tuesday 22 September 2015] to reply.

Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees. Each referee panel member will review the video footage independently of one another to determine whether they consider it a sending-off offence. For retrospective action to be taken, and an FA charge to follow, the decision by the panel must be unanimous.

Arsenal defender Gabriel has been charged with improper conduct for his behaviour following his dismissal, whilst team-mate Santi Cazorla has been warned for his behaviour following his sending off.

Finally, both clubs have been charged for failing to control their players under FA Rule E20.

Both clubs and Gabriel have until 6pm on Thursday [24 September 2015] to reply.
