Arsenal slumped to yet another away defeat after we lost 3-1 to Leicester City at the King Power this evening having played most of the match with 10-men.

After a bright start, Leicester broke the deadlock after Arsenal failed to clear their lines and we were reduced to 10-men after Mavropanos was sent off for bringing down Iheanacho.

Aubameyang made it 1-1 after the break but a Vardy penalty and a late solo goal from Mahrez consigned Arsenal to our seventh consecutive away defeat in 2018.

These are my ratings:

Cech  7.5/10 | Made several smart saves to keep the score respectable.

Maitland-Niles  7.5/10 | Great play to set-up the equaliser and had an impressive evening at right-back. Great prospect and looking forward to seeing him more involved next year.

Holding  6/10 | Struggled up against the pace of Vardy at times and was out-foxed by Mahrez for his late goal.

Mavropanos  3/10 | Nightmare for the youngster. At fault for the opening goal due to his poor clearance and then sent off for hauling down Iheanacho following his sloppy pass in the 15th minute. Shame as he’d been looking great in recent games. Hopefully he’ll learn from this.

Kolasinac  6.5/10 | Clattered the post in the second half and bombed up and down the left wing all night.

Xhaka  5.5/10 | Not the Xhaka we’ve seen in recent weeks but it was always going to be tough playing so long with ten men.

Ramsey  5.5/10 | Another player who struggled with the man disadvantage as our midfield was a little isolated at times.

Mkhitaryan  7/10 | A Clumsy challenge to give away the penalty but was otherwise very good. Always a danger when on the ball.

Iwobi  5/10 | Decent opening but had a nightmare once we went down to ten men. One of his shots ballooned out for a throw in.

Aubameyang  7/10 | Pounced to fire home the equaliser after seeing his initial effort saved. This lad sniffs out goals and I can’t wait to see him push on next season.

Welbeck  N/A | Hooked after Mavropanos was sent off.

Subs:

Mustafi   5/10 | Poor passing at times led to pressure on the back four.

Nketiah N/A | Only on for the final few minutes.

So we’re still without a point in 2018 but to be fair we held our own for long periods despite being down to 10-men. Mavropanos will no doubt be feeling down tonight but he’ll learn from is mistake.

Next up, the final game of the season away to Huddersfield on Sunday…
