[Player Ratings] Arsenal 5-0 Burnley: Aubameyang & Lacazette shine for Gunners

By on May 6, 2018

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice as Arsenal thrashed Burnley 5-0 at the Emirates to give Arsene Wenger the perfect send off.

Alexandre Lacazette, Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac got the other goals to end our home season in fine style and give the boss the ideal parting gift.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  6/10 | Was a spectator for long periods and barely had a save to make.

Bellerin  7.5/10 | Responded well from his poor display in midweek. Assisted both Lacazette and Aubameyang so his final ball was MUCH better than Thursday.

Chambers  7/10 | Another encouraging performance from Calum. Hopefully he starts in our final two games and continues his fine form.

Mavropanos  7/10 | What a talent. Strong, aggressive and good in the air…this lad has everything. Would like to see him in our final two away games.

Kolasinac  7.5/10 | Scored a superb goal and was always a threat down the left flank.

Wilshere  7.5/10 | Saw a few lovely runs from Jack and one led to Kolasinac’s goal. Looked much sharper than he did against Madrid.

Xhaka  7/10 | Kept things moving through midfield and instigated attacks from deep. Solid performance.

Iwobi  8/10 | Lovely finish to get himself on the scoresheet. That goal should give him some confidence. Played his part in two other goals. One of his best performances of the season.

Mkhitaryan  8.5/10 | Wonderful movement and interplay made Mkhitaryan a nightmare for the Burnley defence. Linked-up beautifully with Aubamyang and Lacazette at times.

Lacazette  8.5/10 | Another excellent display. Set up Auba’s opening goal with a cross-come-shot and made it 2-0 with a lovely finish. Seemed to enjoy playing with Aubameyang.

Aubameyang  8.5/10 | On hand to tap home the opener from close range and got his second after the break. Also set-up Iwobi for his goal. This lad will score plenty of goals for Arsenal next season. Great performance.

Subs:

Ramsey  6/10 | Sold 20 mintues.

Welbeck   6/10 | Whacked the post with a superb effort.

Mertesacker  10/10 | On to a heroes welcome for the last 15 minutes.

It was a hugely emotional occasion but it was great to see the players give it there all and send Wenger off with a 5-0 win on his final home game in charge. Next up, Leicester away on Wednesday.
