According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal have been handed a major triple injury boost ahead of our Europa League semi-final first leg with Atletico Madrid.

We welcome the La Liga giants to the Emirates for the crucial first leg next Thursday and the newspaper says Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and David Ospina are all expected to be fit for the game.

Ramsey wasn’t risked against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon after sustaining a nasty cut to his leg during the 2-2 quarter-final draw with CSKA Moscow last week.

The Welsh international suffered the injury just before half time but was able to complete the full ninety minutes, and score the equaliser, after having the wound stapled shut by the medical team.

Arsene Wenger decided not to risk opening the cut again by playing the midfielder during our league game at St James’ Park but the Evening Standard claim Ramsey is due to return to training and will be fit to face Madrid next week.

Wilshere also missed the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend after picking up an ankle problem in Moscow last week that forced him off midway through the second half against CSKA.

However, Jack is also due to resume full training along with Ramsey this week but it remains to be seen whether either midfielder will be risked against West Ham at the Emirates on Sunday.

Wenger has rotated his starting eleven for every Premier League game directly before a Europa League tie since we reached the knockout stages so I expect he’ll do so once again this weekend.

In a triple boost, the newspaper says Ospina is also fit again after recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained in training on the eve of the first leg against CSKA Moscow.

Ospina had played in all previous games in the competition so he could replace Petr Cech between the sticks against Atletico if Wenger opts to revert back to his policy of playing his No.2 in Europe.
