[Tweet] Bellerin issues injury update after being ruled out of Arsenal vs AC Milan
Hector Bellerin has issued an injury update after being ruled out of Arsenal’s Europa League clash with AC Milan this evening.
Bellerin was left out of last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium as a precaution ahead of tonight’s crucial Europa League tie in Italy.
However, the rest did little to help the right-back as a niggling knee injury flared up and scans on Wednesday showed he had inflammation around his left knee.
Bellerin spent yesterday in hospital receiving treatment and therefore missed the trip to Italy ahead of this evening’s clash with Milan while he’s also expected to miss Sunday’s league game with Watford.
Hector has now taken to Twitter to offer an update to his followers with the full-back expressing his disappointment at being forced to miss the game tonight.
The 22-year-old also confirmed he’s been carrying the injury for a while but is hoping it won’t keep him on the sidelines for too long.
He said:
Disappointed not to be fit for tonight and help the boys in a massive game for us. Been carrying this injury for a while but hoping to recover soon. #COYG pic.twitter.com/ji3XV0nZtr

It’s a huge blow to be without Bellerin for our crucial clash with Milan so let’s hope he is fit for the return leg next week. In his absence, Calum Chambers is expected to continue at right-back this evening.
