[Player Ratings] Brighton 2-1 Arsenal: Cech & Ozil shocking for woeful Gunners

By on March 4, 2018

Arsenal crashed to our fourth consecutive defeat with a 2-1 loss at Brighton to pile the pressure on Arsene Wenger.

Shocking keeping from Cech and poor defending overall allowed Brighton to race in to a 2-0 lead before Aubameyang pulled one back just before half time. We dominated after the break but barely tested their goal so slump to our fourth consecutive defeat.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  4/10 | Another shocking performance. His punch from a corner fell straight to Dunk who fired in to the empty net and let Murray’s effort go straight through him. He’s finished.

Chambers 5 /10 | Offered nothing going forward but he’s not a right-back so can’t really blame him too much. Blame the manager for picking him.

Koscielny  4/10 | Lost possession for the second goal. All over the place at times. His regression in recent months has been startling.

Mustafi  5/10 | Left Murray free to head home for 2-0. Positionally poor on several occasions.

Kolasinac  5/10 | A threat at times going forward but no final ball. Lucky to stay on the pitch and was exposed at the back.

Wilshere  5/10 | Looked frustrated and he has every right to be but had no positive influence on the game. Has to do more.

Xhaka  5/10 | Good vision to find Aubameyang for his goal but was otherwise poor yet again.

Mkhitaryan  5/10 | Another disappointing performance from our January signing. With the exception of the Everton game he’s been poor for us.

Iwobi  5/10 | Sloppy in possession and offered little in the final third. Doesn’t have the quality to make it at Arsenal.

Ozil  4/10 | One decent shot was about all he did today. Looked totally uninterested and his body language was shocking. We need our superstar to step up but he’s done nothing since signing his new deal.

Aubameyang  6/10 | On hand to flick home for 2-1 just before half time but once again he lacked any sort of decent service. Looked on a different wave length to his team mates. Feel sorry for the guy.

Subs:

Welbeck  4/10 | No impact at all.

Bellerin/Nketiah  N/A

Yet another defeat and more evidence [if you needed it] that the players are no longer playing for the manager and it’s time for Wenger to go. Not much left to say right now….
