Arsenal eyeing audacious swoop for world class 21-goal forward

By on January 4, 2018

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal have made Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their prime target as Arsene Wenger prepares for life without Alexis Sanchez.

Our Chilean super-star is expected to leave either in a cut-price deal this month or on a free transfer when his contract expires in June after failing to sign an extension at the Emirates.

Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are the front-runners for his signature but Sanchez’s exit will leave a huge void needing to be filled at Arsenal and Wenger has vowed to bring in a top class replacement.

Several names have been thrown around in the media but Sky Sports claim Arsenal have made Dortmund forward Aubameyang our prime target to replace Sanchez when he leaves.

The Gabon international is one of the most prolific goal-scorers in Europe as he’s scored 21 in 23 games in all competitions this season while he bagged 40 last term so he’d certainly bring a real goal threat if we managed to lure him to north London.

Ordinarily, I’d love to see Aubameyang come to Arsenal and I’m glad to hear we’re looking at world class players to replace Sanchez, however, I just don’t see how he can be seen as a like-for-like replacement.

Aubameyang plays as a centre-forward while Alexis has played most of his football on the left side of attack for Arsenal so they don’t play in the same position for one thing.

Plus, we splashed out £50m on Alexandre Lacazette in the summer and he’s our new No.9 so unless Wenger is planning to change formation and play two up front I don’t see why he’d spend big on another striker.

For those reasons, I’m not getting too excited over these Aubameyang rumours and fully expect Wenger to go for a winger like Thomas Lemar when Sanchez leaves.

It won’t happen. We all know Wenger just talk and never do anything. Why would he come to Arsenal. And we all know Wenger don’t do business in January. I stead he should buy a centre back

Arsenal would have signed players they want already to replace Giroud, Ozil, Alexis, Koscielny, Per, when they are still in the club inorder to settle them very well to new environment.
Why not to start playing Eddie Nkeita along side Lacazette in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2 formation to settle them. Remember a player can never win funs unless is played regularly.
