“I want to leave” – Arsenal star confirms desire to leave in January

According to quotes in The Sun, Mathieu Debuchy has confirmed he wants to leave Arsenal in January and hopes his recent form will help attract plenty of interest in his services.

Debuchy has endured a nightmare time since joining Arsenal from Newcastle United in 2014 as his career has been blighted by a number of serious injury problems.

It’s meant Debuchy has played just 13 Premier League games for the club and he’s yet to make a single appearance in the league this season with Hector Bellerin the clear choice at right-back/wing-back.

The 32-year-old came close to leaving in the summer but he ended up staying and has been given opportunities to play in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

To be fair, Debuchy has been playing well in recent outings and many Arsenal fans have been suggesting he’s now a serious challenger for Bellerin in the starting eleven.

However, it looks like Debuchy has other ideas as the defender has confirmed he still wants to leave Arsenal this winter and is hoping his return to form will see him attract plenty of offers.

Debuchy is quoted by The Sun as saying:

“I want to leave, to find a new challenge in January. The fact I’m playing well will give me opportunities.

“We’ll see if there are good opportunities in the transfer window. I’m open.”

I must admit, I’m a little disappointed as Debuchy has emerged as a useful player to have in the squad again and we need someone to compete with Bellerin on the right side.

A fit Debuchy is a very solid player so I’d like to see him stay at Arsenal and fight for his place during the second half of the season but it looks like he’s already made up his mind to go.

    Bonaroca:- I would prefare if Arsenal would play with this system :-
    Cech with a back four system of Bellerin, Mustaphi, Kosc & Monreal then
    Maitland Hill, Wilshire,Kolasinac with 3 forwards Oozil Lacazette & Sanches.

    This I think is a strong defence with Maitland Miles & Koloasinac able to
    interchange with Bellarine and Monreal. As regards the forwards the are top
    international players who I am sure could produce & score accordingly

    I find it very easy to believe that almost all players, except Granit Xhaka wants to leave Arsenal at the moment. The coach is clearly inapt, the tactics make no sense what-so-ever, players who underperform over a long periode of time seem undroppable, and players who shine in cup games, can’t get a minute no matter how many perfect performances they deliver. Xhaka seems to stay in the side no matter how dreadfully he plays at times. And then almost every player in the team plays out of position. We have a former legendary goalkeeper on a steady decline towards Almunia-levels. We have a decent left-back underperforming at CB, we have world class french CB who can’t stop gifting the opposition goals. Midfield that lacks defencive dicipline, stikers who can’t score more than a goal every 22 shots, and substitutes that never make any impact or sense. Who in their right mind would want to extend their contract under such insase circumstanses?
