[Photos] 8 youngsters train with Arsenal first team ahead of West Ham clash
Six young guns took part in Arsenal’s final training session this afternoon ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup quarter-final clash with Wets Ham at the Emirates.
Just as he’s done in all previous cup games this season, Arsene Wenger is expected to heavily rotate his starting eleven once again tomorrow night with our key men saved for Friday night’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Therefore, a host of fringe players are set to get a chance to impress with the likes of David Ospina, Calum Chambers, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny all expected to feature.
Wenger has confirmed Theo Walcott will start the game after recovering from a minor groin injury while Danny Welbeck, Sead Kolasinac and Olivier Giroud could also get a start tomorrow.
However, a number of youngsters will be hoping to be included in the squad with Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Chuba Akpom, Josh Dasilva, Eddie Nketiah, Matt Macey and Joao Virginia all taking part in full training today.
I really hope we see Nelson, Willock and Nketiah in particular get a run out at some point – although I think only one or two of the teenagers will get a start as Wenger has vowed to start an experienced line-up.
