[Photos] 4 teenagers train with Arsenal first team ahead of Newcastle clash
Youngsters Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Josh Dasilva and Joe Willock were all involved in first team training today as Arsenal prepare to take on Newcastle this weekend.
We welcome the Magpies to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon desperate to get back to winning ways after taking just two points from our last three league games.
Arsene Wenger mixed things up in midweek with a formation change seeing the likes of Ainsley Miatland-Niles, Alex Iwobi and Olivier Giroud recalled to the first team for the draw at West Ham.
The boss is expected to rotate once again tomorrow but it’s unlikely Nelson, Nketiah, Dasilva or Willock will feature against Newcastle as the quartet are more likely to be involved in the League Cup clash on Tuesday.
The young guns were joined in training today by Shkodran Mustafi after the defender recovered from a thigh injury but Wenger suggested at his press conference that he wouldn’t risk the German international this weekend.
Per Mertesacker was also back out on the training pitches at London Colney today after missing training and the West Ham game earlier this week but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be involved tomorrow.
