[Player Ratings] Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield: Ozil unplayable for five-star Gunners

By on November 29, 2017

Arsenal put in a five star performance as we thrashed Huddersfield Town 5-0 at the Emirates this evening thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and a brace from Olivier Giroud.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  6.5/10 | Great save with his foot to keep it at 1-0 early in the second half before almost scoring a calamity own goal minutes later.

Koscielny  7/10 | A few shaky moments before we scored the vital second goal but led us to another clean sheet.

Mustafi  7/10 | Another solid performance in the middle of defence. Great to have him back in form.

Monreal  7/10 | On hand to make a vital block to deny a certain equaliser early in the second half. Pivotal moment.

Ramsey  8/10 | Clever flick set Lacazette free to score the opening goal and got another assist for Ozil’s effort. Great all-round display.

Xhaka  6.5/10 | Kept the ball moving well in midfield but was overshadowed by Ramsey.

Bellerin  6.5/10 | Got forward well but final ball let him down a number of times. Needs to practice his crossing in training!

Kolasinac  7/10 | Played a key role in the final goal and was always a threat down the left.

Ozil  8.5/10 | Grabbed two lovely assists and scored our fourth in a superb performance from the German. Ran the show in the second half.

Alexis  7.5/10 | Played his part in the second goal before lashing home the third a minute later. Played some great football in patches.

Lacazette  7.5/10 | Another fine run and cool finish from the Frenchman to open the scoring early on. Was always a threat and had another lovely lob from a tight angle cleared off the line. Unfortunately subbed at the break after picking up a groin injury and will now miss the United game.

Subs:

Giroud  8/10 | Missed an open goal from a tight angle to make it 2-0 but made amends by scoring a late brace.

Welbeck  6/10 | A decent cameo but he might be needed more now that Lacazette has picked up an injury.

Wilshere  6/10 | Good to see him get another 15 minutes of league football under his belt.

Some of the football in the second half was the best we’ve played this season and it’s a great sign heading in to the United game on Saturday. Sadly Lacazette is set to miss out so it will be interesting to see who Wenger goes with [I hope Welbeck].
