[Video] Arsenal star suffers ankle injury on international duty
Arsenal have suffered an injury scare after Laurent Koscielny picked up an ankle knock while on international duty tonight.
Koscielny started for France during their World Cup qualifier against Holland in Paris and he was having a solid game during what was a relatively comfortable night’s work for the hosts.
However, the Arsenal star went down in agony clutching his ankle shortly after half time after being hacked down by former Chelsea attacker Arjen Robben.
Koscielny appeared to get his studs caught in the turf and roll his ankle after Robben kicked him from behind and the defender needed treatment from the French physio’s.
Thankfully he returned to complete the ninety minutes but Koscielny was clearly in some discomfort and he was seen hobbling towards the end of the match.
To make matters worse for Arsenal fans, Thomas Lemar scored a brace including a wonderful strike from the edge of the area during the 4-0 win just hours after snubbing a record move to the Emirates.
Check out a video of the Koscielny incident below. Let’s pray he’s OK as the last thing we need is losing our best defender.
