Arsenal drawn to play League One side in Carabao Cup

By on August 24, 2017

Arsenal will entertain Doncaster Rovers at the Emirates in the third round of the Carabao Cup after the draw was conducted in the early hours of this morning.

The League One outfit beat Hull City last night to progress to the third round where all the Premier League big boys joined the draw and they were handed a trip to north London.

Obviously it’s a positive draw for The Arsenal but we should be mindful that the last time we played Doncaster in 2005 we needed a 120th minute equaliser from Gilberto Silva to salvage a 1-1 draw in extra-time.

We eventually won the shoot-out but it was embarrassing result for the club so Arsene Wenger will be hoping for a more straightforward victory this time around.

The tie will be played in the week commencing September 18th. Here is the full draw:

This sites false. Doncaster beat Hull on Tuesday night, not last. Also Gilberto’s goal at Belle Vue in 2005 made the game 2-2 not 1-1.
