According to John Cross at the Mirror, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has informed Arsene Wenger during face-to-face talks that he won’t be signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Emirates and has so far rejected our attempts to tie him down to an extension.

The Mirror claim the 24-year-old has already snubbed two formal contract offers with the latest one worth a whopping £125,000-a-week – which equates to £6.5m-per-season.

It had been reported in the media yesterday that Oxlade-Chamberlain was due to hold face-to-face talks with Wenger about his future as the boss looked to try and persuade the midfielder to commit himself to the club.

However, it seems that meeting didn’t go too well as the Mirror says Oxlade-Chamberlain has informed Wenger he has no intention of signing a new deal and his decision isn’t based on money.

The newspaper says Arsenal are expected to hold further talks with the midfielder this week and offer a third deal but it seems pointless if the player has already made up his mind.

Wenger has clearly been trying to show Oxlade-Chamberlain that he’s part of his plans as he’s started our three games so far this season – although he’s been shoehorned in to the side at wing-back.

That tactic clearly hasn’t worked so far and if he stands firm and refuses to sign a new deal this week, then I think we should cut our loses and sell to the highest bidder before the window closes.

The England international has attracted plenty of interest with the Mirror claiming that Chelsea are ready to offer £35m and I’d rather see him sold than leave on a free in 12 months time.

Chamberlain hasn’t progressed and is frustrating to watch as he does so many things right only to waste it all with his final ball or decision making. He’s never going to be an important first team player, so why are we making so much fuss about hanging on to him?

If he honestly won’t sign a deal worth £125,000-a-week, then we’d be mad to keep him beyond this summer. Especially if the club are also going to lose Sanchez and Ozil for nothing in 12 months.

According to John Cross at the Mirror…well you can’t get better references than that! Must be true, because he knows someone in Arsenal who knows someone in the club that’s heard from someone in the ‘know’…grow up people…you are so gullible !

The Manager including the entire management staff has lost focus and every year the fans are made to believe that the squad will challenge for trophies. Bringing in quality players to ensure that the bench is as strong as the first eleven is the only way modern football has been fashioned. Every year he brings in the so-called special p;layers and ends up giving them less game time or not even fielding them under the watchfull eyes of members of the management and board teams. Quality addition to squad at hand alone can motivate all and prepare squad members to fight for laurels.

Bonaroca:- I have to agree with Med Kaye’s remarks. Time and time again Mr Wenger has chosen quite a few players who are suppose to be specialist in
their respective positions when they joined Arsenal, but instead time and time again they are played in different positions, which at the same time distables
the whole team, a clear example was the loss against Stoke in which the defence set up was at a loss every time the ball was in the Arsenal area.
I think Mr Wenger’s time is up and should be replaced immediately. At the moment three top quality players have refused to extend their contracts, and most probably there will be more. Let’s be honest Arsenal have so many talented youngsters, but while other teams of late are introducing and giving a chance to play at a higher level, as far as I know Mr Wenger presents some on the opening season and then we hear nothing except they end up on loan.
Twenty two years with the same Club is a long time particularly when the man
in charge has used more or less the same playing system.
Arsenal need a change and the change must be from top to bottom with a new
manager, obviously, with this team I don’t think that Arsenal have a chance
of winning the league.Sorry to be so hard by an Arsenal Supporter since 1946.
