[Photo] Sanchez puts Arsenal return in doubt with latest social media post
Alexis Sanchez has cast doubt over his return to Arsenal after claiming he’s ‘sick’ just 48 hours before he’s due to return to pre-season training.
Sanchez has been enjoying an extended break following his participation in the Confederations Cup this summer where he helped Chile reach the final before eventually losing to Shkodran Mustafi’s Germany.
Arsene Wenger confirmed yesterday that Alexis and Mustafi were due to return to the club this weekend and start their pre-season preparations at London Colney on Sunday.
However, Sanchez has now put his return in doubt after posting two photos of himself on Instagram pulling a ridiculous face with a caption saying ‘sick’.
Understandably, fans are skeptical over Sanchez’s supposed illness as the timing is a little too convenient given he’s expected to return to Arsenal this weekend and I personally wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t show up on Sunday.
The attacker has been strongly linked with a move away from the club this summer as he has just one year left on his contract and has so far refused to sign an extension despite Arsenal offering him a huge pay rise.
Speculation suggests Alexis is angling for a move to Man City but Wenger has made it clear we won’t sell, even if he doesn’t sign a new deal, so is this Sanchez starting to force a way out the club?
I really hope this doesn’t turn ugly. All the noise coming out of Arsenal suggests they are confident Sanchez will knuckle down and work hard this season if he’s told he won’t be sold, but calling in ‘sick’ one your first day back at work isn’t a good sign.

I strong believe that such a nonsense stance taken by an individual player must not go unpunished. Let bloke stay put until his contract expires next season. He must, I repeat see out his contract. Doctor report must prove that he has a flu otherwise he should be strongly reprimanded as well as brought before the English FA and FIFA. Without such measures players would always want to repeat this feat.

Sanchez has really taken arsenal FC for granted. It’s really sad for a star player to behave this way.

if he was actually sick he wouldn’t post a pic on instagram with a bunch of emojis. very unprofessional move on his part and i have lost alot of respect for the guy for this. i don’t care if he stays or goes but he needs to fulfill his agreement with the club he signed a contract with. we obviously would be happy to sell him to a non-rival. not sure why more teams aren’t interested in him outside the pl.
lukaku was 80m, sanchez is only 40?

The Sanchez guy is begining to irritate me seriously..is he the best player to have played for arsenal? His childish attitude is increasingly becoming unbeatable…. He will kill AFC team spirit. Just sell him.. Cotinho respects Liverpool. Kane delle ali respects toteham.. Vardy respects liester. Even Suarez respect Liverpool… But y arsenal.?

I want Sanchez to go once he thinks he no longer want to be at Arsenal. It is Arsenal that makes him big but if he thinks he is now bigger than the club, let him go. Let Arsene just bring us both Lemar and Mahrez then we will even be better off. Just let him not be sold to any of our rivals in England. He must regret his actions as other players has in the past. Let him just reference Kleb, Song and others
