Attacker to push through £45m Arsenal move after agreeing personal terms

By on July 17, 2017

According to The Sun, Thomas Lemar is ready to force through a move to Arsenal after agreeing personal terms ahead of a potential £45m switch to north London.

Arsene Wenger admitted last week that he’s still looking to further strengthen his squad having already signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac, and Lemar has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks.

Widespread reports have suggested we’re in talks with Monaco over a deal to sign the 21-year-old and the Mirror reported recently that we were hoping to secure a deal worth around £45m having seen a previous £40m offer rebuffed.

Monaco have so far proven difficult to deal with as they are desperate not to see their title-winning squad ripped apart with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernado Silva already gone while Benjamin Mendy and Kylian Mbappe have joined Lemar in being linked with moves away this summer.

However, The Sun claim Lemar is ready to force through his switch to Arsenal by demanding Monaco sell and has already agreed personal terms over a deal worth £90,000-a-week.

The French international has just come off the back of a superb season that saw him score 14 goals and provide 17 assists to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title so you can understand why Wenger wants him.

However, the youngster is predominantly played as a left-sided attacker so he could be viewed as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez – although let’s hope not as Lemar can play in a variety of midfield positions.

We’ll have to see how things progress over the coming days but let’s pray we manage to get a deal agreed as Lemar would be an excellent addition to the squad.
