Arsenal table record bid as Wenger eyes £164m double swoop

By on July 8, 2017

According to reports in Spain via the Daily Star, Arsenal have tabled a world record £124m bid for Kylian Mbappe as Arsene Wenger eyes a big-money double swoop on Monaco.

The boss has already been busy in the summer transfer market having broken our club record to snap up Alexandre Lacazette while defender Sean Kolasinac has arrived on a free transfer.

However, it looks like Wenger is still hoping to secure further new recruits and widespread reports in recent weeks have linked us with two of Monaco’s star players.

Mbappe has emerged as the hottest property in world football after scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season and he’s attracted interest from several top clubs.

The Daily Star are citing a report from Spanish outlet Diario Gol that claims Arsenal have joined PSG in submitting world record bids worth a whopping £124m for the teen sensation.

The report doesn’t indicate whether Monaco has responded to our offer but they do say that Mbappe’s future isn’t strictly linked to just money and the striker will ultimately have the final say on who he joins.

Diario Gol also suggest that the 18-year-old has reservations about joining Madrid as he’s concerned about the lack of regular playing time he’d get at the Champions League winners so Arsenal do have a decent chance of winning the race for his signature.

Any deal for Mbappe could be part of a double swoop on Monaco as the Daily Star report that we’ve also tabled an improved offer worth £40m for attacker Thomas Lemar.

The 21-year-old was also a key player last season and understandably Monaco are desperate to keep hold of him so it’s going to be extremely difficult to pull off what would be a sensational £164m double swoop.

With Lacazette already on the books I don’t see how we have room for Mbappe and Lemar without the likes of Alexis Sanchez or Olivier Giroud leaving so I’d expect departures if we manage to land the French pair.

I can’t help but feel for Wenger, time and time again he has been betrayed by player’s that hugely benefited from his fatherly player management pattern, Hleb, Fabregas, nasri van persie and now from the look of things Sanchez is prepared to do the same well, I am keeping my fingers crossed we will see how this eventually pans out.

I concur with you. Any player who was first 11 in Arsenal lined up who left whereby the Manager & the fans unhappy have never succeed.

Sanchez is a good player but not a team player. Since the Bayern and Liverpool game I nvr liked him. So wenger sell him to Man city then we meet at the field. Arsenal is bigger than an Individual.

Ox,Walcot,Ramsey and Giroud should be should be sold. We love them and they are good players but these tym we need teamfresh. They need to go and get first 11.

Hope Ramsey will not be in the first 11 the coming season.

      Carzola we miss u.

You critisize players for not beein true to the club. At the same time you say Arsenal should sell the best teamplayers that we have. You must be silly!!

I think Wenger should sale Sanchez to psg or juve for 60mil and get us mbape and Lemar. it will be a great deal.asking for 400k per week is a criminal act. we still have 150mil remaining on our transfer budget. if Sanchez and ox refused to sign then give ox to Liverpool and take 40mil give Sanchez to psg and take 60 60mil then we will have 250mil which can get us mbape and Lemar or even neymar and still keep our balance

I can’t imagine Sanchez asking for 400k. Maybe he’s trying to force our hands. Bit he should always remember Wenger and Arsenal played a part in his career. If he was not surplus to requirement I doubt if Barcelona would let him go. He should go if he wants to. but any club that wants him must pay through their nose. Just imagine what Monaco is asking for two young players that you are not 100% sure of their future performance.

I hope these 80m sale figures to Citeh aren’t true, cos they will pay it. They are desperate. If they win nothing again this year heads will roll. Meanwhile all the press releases have been judiciously released so that now Arsenal fans are accepting the unacceptable, even though we were assured he wouldn’t go to a rival, our season will end in failure, and we will be told that we are in a rebuilding process, because we had to sell our best player a la RvP, all because we couldn’t sort out signing a contract before it expired. Not to a rival at ANY price.

I like sanchez as a arsenal playerr.the style of playing, passion, hardworking, never say no…but for 400k per week…u r to much brother…u r not ronaldo & messi level yet..so please arsene just sell him..then give the 400k per week to lemar/mbappe & mahrez,.they were happy & worth to receive that t amaunt

Believe me – that’s not true, Citeh’s top wage earner gets 220k – do you think they will double that for AS?, there will be riots in the team. There is so much fake news out there it’s difficult to get the true story

I fell the amount Sanchez is asking for is way beyond his abilities well he should be sold but certainly not to a rival at any price…. please not to Man City

I wouldn’t sell Alexis to any club in England & Alexis should be appreciative for the playing time Arsene gave him.Wenger go to R Madrid and buy either Kovac or Isco as replacement for Cazorla.our midfield let us down last season coz Santiago was injured.we need a midfielder who can do what Santiago does for our midfield and only person I see is Isco.

The way I see things happening at arsenal is amind game where Sanchez is forcing the club to sell him to rival but remember all plays who have been forcing atransfer through have not been shining like the likes of Samir Naris to mancity,Sagn, clincy,Helb, adeboyar and the rest now where are they? so if arsen wanger is wise let him sell him bse theres nothing he would change frm him bse he as alexis has the backup of his agent poisoning him ,cash him them we get new intruts likes of Mahrez, Lamer they can fit in his boots.

I think if Sanchez remains at arsenal and renews his contract… He will win trophies .arsene buys r very good additions. I think with the remaining of Sanchez plus all the recruits arsenal is a far better team than man city.

We’r used to such players, on their arrival arsenal transfer is their dream come true. when they reach their prime, their talent is bigger than Arsenal & start forcing exit. Let him GO! Arsenal had great history without him

Though Sanchez is a good player but if you look at him critically, Sanchez is not a team player, a selfish and greedy player, he was the may reason Chile lost the confederation cup if you watch the match properly with open mind. Losing him to Man City may not be okay but he will follow the same way of van Persie and Nasri. Good luck to him.

if arsenal give man city a player of more than 20 league scoring ability they give man city title without no doubt and Sanchez can help man city win premier league in upcoming season.

Well i think Sanchez should be sold but its sad how he’s leaving us at such a time when we took him from Barca after they got MSN where he was destined to bench. We should keep Ox, sell Ramsey. If we can get Lemar it will be good but if Monaco ask for too much we will be in a tight position. We should get at least £65mil for Sanchez

Sanchez has a right to his demands. Any clud that can meet those demands should approach Arsenal base he is currently Arsenal property.

Am a fan of Alexis but if he wants to pls Wenger don’t hesitate to let him go. Sell Alexis, Ox, Ramsey, & Walcott, & use the money get us Mbappe, Lemar, Mahrez & I still believe we stay with a change in our pocket.

I thinks this is getting too much of Alexis, he should leave the team and go else were, but if only wenger can do this for me! I want him to stay back, then wenger should put his ass on bench for d whole season, then he will be noting to say about in d next summer. Wenger is not like that. Pls cash him and get the money, pls get this young once who hungry to play. Lemer, marehz and mbappe. This guy’s are exceptional. Couple with lacazette. Sell Giroud, theo. Leave ox and Rambo.

Alexis is a hardworking player, but not a panacea for arsenal title hopes. Arsene, let him go. Leicester did not win premier’s league with Alexis nor did Chalsea, remain focused on bringing new ones that can surprise the world

Let Sanchez leave Arsenal is not a one man club. we can at least create room for Mbappe and Lemar or Mahrez. Who is sanchez? he was destined to the bench at Barca when Wenger took him and help him get to the level that he is currently in.
