Arsenal set to announce first signing, player agrees £7.5m-a-year deal
According to a report in the Express, Arsenal are finally set to announce the signing of Sead Kolasinac with the defender expected to join on a long-term deal worth £7.5m-per-season.
Kolasinac has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months and has been in negotiations since the turn of the year after refusing to sign a new contract with Schalke.
The left-back is out-of-contract at the end of this month and is fully-expected to make a free transfer to the Emirates with the Express claiming he’s agreed terms over a long-term deal worth £7.5m-per-season.
The newspaper says we tied-up the transfer some time ago but the official announcement was delayed due to the uncertainties surrounding the future of Arsene Wenger.
However, now that the boss has penned a new two-year extension, the Express cite a report from Bild that claims Kolasinac’s arrival will be officially confirmed any day now.
The Bosnian international fuelled speculation that he was on the verge of moving to the Emirates when he followed Arsenal on Instagram last week, so it looks as though we won’t have to wait too much longer before his signing is announced.
Kolasinac will come-in as our new first choice left-back and his attacking instincts mean he should be well-suited to playing the left wing-back role in the 3-4-2-1 formation that Wenger adopted during the closing stages of last season.
The 23-year-old will be an excellent addition to the squad, especially on a free transfer, as he was voted as the best left-back in the Bundesliga last year.

However, his arrival is likely to spell the end for Kieran Gibbs with the 27-year-old expected to end his long association with the club after failing to hold down a regular first team place.
