Arsenal believe they can sign Aubameyang in £60m deal

By on June 4, 2017

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have identified Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a potential target and believe they could sign the Borussia Dortmund striker for £60m this summer.

Arsene Wenger ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year contract last week and now the boss is ready to spend record transfer fees in order to turn our squad in to genuine title challengers.

The Daily Mail claim that Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe remains a prime target and Wenger remains hopeful of persuading the teenager to join Arsenal with the promise of building the team around him.

It was widely reported on Friday that we saw an opening £87m offer rejected and with stiff competition from many of Europe’s top clubs, landing Mbappe is going to be extremely difficult.

Therefore, the boss is eyeing alternatives and the Daily Mail suggest that we’ve identified Aubameyang as another target and believe we could sign the Gabon international for £60m this summer.

Aubameyang has just come off the back of a sensational campaign that saw him score 40 goals in all competitions for Dortmund but it’s reported that he has now asked to leave the Westfalonstadion in search of a new challenge.

Madrid have been strongly linked with the 27-year-old but there is no chance the Champions League winners will sign both him and Mbappe so it looks like we’ll go for Aubameyang if the Spaniard’s land the French sensation.

I’m a huge fan of Aubameyang and while Mbappe is one of the most exciting young talents in the world, there is a strong case that Aubameyang at £60m would be a better deal for Arsenal right now as he’s the more established player.

The Daily Mail claim that as well as signing a striker, Wenger will also look to bring in another top class attacker with Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez and Kingsley Coman all on his radar.

Of the three, Mahrez is arguably the most realistic target as he’s submitted a transfer request and Wenger publicly admitted his interest in the Leicester City winger last week.

Obviously we’re all dreaming of signing Mbappe as he’s the flavour of the month right now but I’d be one happy Gooner if we could sign Aubameyang and Mahrez this summer, and we could probably buy the pair for less than it would cost to sign Mbappe.

Wenger is leaving only to stay. Wenger is going to spend money, only to be stingy.

Why do you want to pay 95 million for a youngster with one good season. But this is all talk. Arsenal will never pay that. For the next two years Arsenal won’t win anything yet again

With Auba, Arsensal would have one hell of a Striker; If Sanchez alongside Ozil stays then the Club should be ready to make a big haul of laurels. But with Wenger, I am afraid he would behave like a kid in a candy shop.
