[Ratings] Cech stars as Arsenal easily beaten by Tottenham

petr cech arsenal

We were totally outclassed as Tottenham ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Arsenal at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Dele Alli and a Harry Kane penalty early in the second half did the damage but the truth is it could have been a lot more as Petr Cech had to make several saves to keep us in it.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  8.5/10 | Made several superb saves to keep the score respectable. No attempt to dive for the Kane penalty though.

Gabriel  5/10 | Stupid tackle to bring down Kane for the penalty. There was no need to dive in like that. Booked and subbed.

Koscielny  6/10 | Caught out by Alli for the opener. No leadership at all from him today.

Monreal  6/10 | Also could have done more to prevent the first goal. Couldn’t cope with Tottenham’s movement in attack.

Oxlade-Chamberlain  6/10 | Was our best player in the first half but no idea why he went with his right foot to try and clear Alli’s goal-bound effort?!

Ramsey  5/10 | Tried to support the attack when he could but he’s just lost his mojo. Passing was off and his shooting even worse.

Xhaka  5/10 | Poor game. Failed to win any of his attempted 3 tackles and couldn’t control the game like he usually does. Subbed.

Gibbs  5/10 | Lost possession countless times and offered virtually nothing down the left side.

Ozil  5/10 | Another big away game and another poor showing from Ozil. Simply has to do more when it counts, but he wasn’t alone today.

Sanchez  5/10 | Our other star man also had an off day as Alexis did little to show why he’s supposedly worth £300,000-a-week.

Giroud  5/10 | Missed a couple of half chances and was poor overall. Should never have started.

Subs:

Welbeck  5/10 | Should have started ahead of Giroud.

Bellerin  5/10 | No real impact off the bench.

Walcott  5/10 | Had a half-chance which he fires straight at Lloris.

We were totally overpowered in the second half and the players showed absolutely no fight what-so-ever. It’s another away defeat to a direct rival and it’s a miracle we’re still in the fight for the top four.
