Key duo recalled in 3-4-3: My Arsenal starting XI vs Leicester

Arsenal desperately need to get all three points to keep alive our top four hopes when we entertain Leicester City at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.

This is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with….

Goalkeeper: Cech

Cech produced a superb save to deny Toure at 1-1 on Sunday and I don’t think he got enough credit as it was a key moment in the game. He may not have been on his best form for much of the season but he’s still our number one and he should keep his place tomorrow. Ospina is still out with a back injury anyway.

Defence: Gabriel, Koscielny, Holding

I was glad to see Wenger stick with the back three at the weekend and the boys didn’t disappoint as Koscielny, Holding and Gabriel were all excellent against Man City.

Holding held his own and didn’t put a foot wrong while Gabriel easily had his best game in an Arsenal shirt as he was immense. Mustafi is still nursing a thigh injury but I’d keep faith with this trio in any case.

Midfield: Bellerin, Xhaka, The Ox, Gibbs

Oxlade-Chamberlain was superb once again in the wing-back role so it’s difficult to leave him out right now. He did leave the game limping after being caught on his foot but the midfielder was able to train today so he should be fine.

I still think it’s inevitable that Bellerin will be the long-term selection in the wing-back position so I’d bring him back in to the side tomorrow night and move The Ox in to the middle alongside Xhaka.

Monreal put in a better shift on Sunday and took his goal superbly, however, I’d still like to see Gibbs given a chance in the left wing-back position as I think he has all the attributes to do well there.

Ramsey, Elneny and Coquelin will all be options from the bench but of course Cazorla remains out for the rest of the season.

Danny Welbeck

Attack: Ozil, Sanchez, Welbeck

Welbeck made a big difference when he came off the bench on Sunday as he finally gave the City defence something to think about down the channels. For the second consecutive game, Giroud did very little leading the line in this new formation so it’s difficult to justify his inclusion against Leicester.

Sanchez popped up with the winner and it was great to see him make such an impact in a big game and Ozil worked his socks off so obviously our star men should keep their places in attack.

Perez is back in full training but I don’t think we’ll see him feature tomorrow but the likes of Walcott, Iwobi and Giroud will be options from the bench.

That would be my team as I think we need to freshen things up following an energy-sapping cup semi-final but I wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger decides to stick with an unchanged line-up again.

    Arsenal are really not cutting sharp on attack and Arsene needs to find this edge. Maybe rather than three attackers we need the 4th body infront there. Ox is doing well on the right and should put in aseries of games in their. I would give Gabriel a break and have Bellerin get a go
