Arsenal plot swoop for Brazilian ace, £30m deal in the pipeline

By on April 3, 2017

According to a report in the Mirror, Arsenal are plotting a swoop on Juventus for £30m-rated full-back Alex Sandro this summer.

Despite on-going doubts over his own future, Arsene Wenger is pressing ahead with his transfer plans and a new left-back is one of many things on the agenda.

Kieran Gibbs is about to enter the final year of his contract and is expected to leave in search of regular football while real competition for Nacho Monreal is needed as the Spaniard has struggled at times this season.

The Mirror are reporting today that Wenger has now set his sights on Alex Sandro and is plotting a swoop for the Brazilian international at the end of the season.

Sandro joined the Old Lady from Porto in 2015 and has developed in to one of the best attacking left-back’s in Europe with his excellent displays helping Juve remain on course to lifting yet another Serie A title this season.

The newspaper says that the Turin giants want to tie Sandro down to a new deal but an agreement hasn’t been reached as yet and Arsenal could now be ready to lure the 26-year-old to England.

However, the Mirror say that we’ll face stiff competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid while Juve will demand a fee in the region of £30m for Sandro’s signature.

I’m not sure I can see Wenger spending £30m of his transfer kitty on a left-back as we have other areas of the squad that also need strengthening so I’s personally be surprised if anything came of these rumours, but you just never know.

The board will be naïve to sanction such a transfer with all
the uncertainty regarding the FM’s future.
Arsenal shd not be held to ransom by any manager/player .
In Wenger’s case he is very fortunate to have a board that
    aint as ruthless as others.
Frankly he is past his expiry date long, long, long ago.Rememeber the
days of big scorelines ie5-4,5-3,6-3,etc. Then it wasn’t a problem because the gunners were winning. Now the defence is among the poorest.
For this the fm is accountable. To win games you need astrong defence.
