[Tweets] Ozil ‘confident’ ahead of Bayern – Arsenal players react to Hull win

By on February 11, 2017

Some of the Arsenal players have been celebrating on Twitter after we secured a 2-0 win over Hull City at the Emirates this afternoon.

It was anything but a routine win as we struggled to get our passing game going and enjoyed a large slice of fortune for the opening goal as the ball founds its way in to the net via the hand of Alexis Sanchez in the 35th minute.

We sat back to protect our lead in the second half but eventually wrapped up the three points in stoppage time when Sanchez converted a penalty after Lucas Perez has seen his goal-bound header handled on the line.

The win moves us level on points with second-placed Tottenham and is a morale-boosting victory following two gut-wrenching defeats to Watford and Chelsea.

Mesut Ozil has taken to Twitter to say the hard-fought win today has restored some confidence ahead of Wednesday night’s huge Champions League clash with Bayern Munich while Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Per Mertesacker have also taken to the social media site to react to the win over Hull.

Theo Walcott was involved in a hilarious bit of hand bags during the game when he squared up to Maguire and Huddlestone – two players who are MUCH bigger than him – and the Arsenal attacker has now poked fun at the incident on Instagram.

Beating Hull with a hand of God goal is one thing. Isuppose this cancelsChelseas opening goal. Now what if the goal were not allowed.
Anything could happen. Hull could have won/draw the game.
The thing is the gunner attack s still ponderous and slow to break out. I suppose that is against Wenger’s philosophy of the beautiful game with an orgy of passes.
BM will be a severe test. The gunners would consider it a bonus if they can get a draw. However the Germans aint past cl champions for nothing. They have wc players and they don’t waste time with a complicated passing agme.Expect a 2- 0 loss especially if the Gunners want to play the beautiful game.
