Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bayern Munich showdown

Arsenal have been handed a huge boost ahead of clash with Bayern Munich after midfielder Arturo Vidal admitted that he’s in real danger of missing the Champions League last-16 showdown.

Vidal aggravated a rib injury and was forced off early in the second half during Bayern’s win over Freiburg on Friday night and he’s confirmed that the problem could take up to three weeks to fully heal.

We head to Germany to take on Bayern in the first leg of our Champions League last-16 tie in just over three weeks time so Vidal is facing a race against time to get himself fit for the game at the Allianz Arena.

The Chilean international is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I feel bad and have severe pain on the rib. Now I will have to pause, because I cannot play,”

“I already missed training for a week, but now it should take at least two or three weeks.

“[I will see] how I feel for the last 16 in the Champions League.”

Vidal has been carrying the rib problem since initially suffering the injury during Bayern’s Telekom Cup final win over Mainz earlier this month and he aggravated the issue on Friday.

We’ll have to wait and see whether he recovers in time for our first leg on February 15 but Vidal would be a big miss for Bayern if he’s ruled out and let’s be honest, we could do with all the help we can get!

    Even though Arsene Wenger is ban it won’t affect Arsenal, i trust Arsenal players, i love their cohension, they could win matches without Wenger ok, England FA is flaw,

    I will only be happy if he doesn’t appear on game day. Mow its all
    speculation and could be ploy by BM.The German ginats have been having a stranglehold on German soccer.t’s about time some other team/s break it.
    The same goes for MU.The rf thinks they have a divine right to the epl year in year out. If they don’t win it this season,it will be 4 years since they won it. Make it longer if possible.
    Me thinks the 1995/1996 season when NU squander a 12 point gap will not be replicated.Then it was between rf and kk.Now with 5 clubs capable of winning the epl,the so and rf can kiss it goodbye.
