Agent confirms Arsenal approach for £34m attacker – report

By on December 21, 2016

According to a report in the Mirror, Julian Draxler’s representative has confirmed the player is currently deciding whether to join Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain.

Draxler has long been linked with a move to Arsenal and we were reportedly close to signing him several times before he eventually joined Wolfsburg from Schalke in 2015.

After a promising start to life at the Volkswagen Arena, the 23-year-old has fallen out with the Bundesliga outfit with both parties confirming that Draxler has played his last game for Wolfsburg and will leave next month.

Understandably there have been a number of clubs linked with a move for the talented attacker but widespread speculation earlier this week suggested that the German international was all set for a move to PSG.

However, one of Draxler’s representatives have been quoted by the Mirror as telling La Parisien that no deal has been finalised with the French giants as the player is also tempted by an offer to join Arsenal.

“Nothing is done, Julian is hesitating between PSG and Arsenal. For the moment, he is thinking.

“A decision will be made in the coming days. One thing is certain, he has played his last match for Wolfsburg.”

These comments are exciting when taken at face value as Draxler would be a superb signing for Arsenal. He’d give us real creativity from the wing and the Mirror suggest that Wolfsburg want around £34m which is a very reasonable price for a player of his potential in today’s climate.

However, the skeptic in me can’t help but feel that Draxler’s agent is using Arsenal’s name to try and get a better deal out of PSG. Let’s hope not and Arsene Wenger has confirmed in the past he’s a huge fan, but I’m getting my hopes up too much that we’ll be seeing Draxler rocking up at the Emirates next month.

Regardless of who Wenger buys,it will still be the same Arsenal. That means passing all over the pitch and trying to weave away past a heavily guarded goal. We know what happens when that fails and results in another loss.
Even if he were to win the epl,I say enough is enough . Let someone younger with a proven track record of success take over
