Photos: Mustafi & Perez train with Arsenal ahead of Saints clash
Arsenal’s latest new signings Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez have been training with their new team mates for the first time ahead of our Premier League clash with Southampton on Saturday.
Mustafi made a big-money move from Valencia shortly before the summer transfer window closed and has had to wait to link-up with the Arsenal squad after being away on international duty with Germany.
However, the centre-back returned along with Mesut Ozil yesterday and took part in his first training session at London Colney today putting himself in the frame to make his debut against the Saints this weekend.
Perez also secured a move to north London just before deadline day as the striker joined from Deportivo La Coruna. The 27-year-old hasn’t been on international duty as he wasn’t called up by Spain and I assumed he’d been training with the rest of the non-international’s over the past week.
However, the clubs website says it was also his first official training session today so perhaps the striker has just been keeping himself fit in the gym whle the rest of the boys were away with their countries.
Here are some photos from today’s session courtesy of Arsenal.com:
