[Tweet] Mustafi takes to Twitter amid reports of £30m Arsenal bid

By on August 9, 2016

Shkodran Mustafi has taken to Twitter amid reports that Arsenal are set to finally submit a formal £30m bid for his services.

Arsene Wenger has been forced to step-up his pursuit of a new centre-back after Gabriel was ruled out for up to eight week with an ankle injury that he picked up during the win over Manchester City on Sunday.

With Per Mertesacker also on the sidelines through injury and Laurent Koscielny only returning to training yesterday following his extended break, we have no senior centre-back to choose from against Liverpool on Sunday.

Therefore, the boss is hoping to bring in a new defender before the end of the week and the Daily Mail claim that we’re set to test Valencia’s resolve with an opening £30m bid for Mustafi.

That amount is still below the 24-year-old’s £42m buyout clause but it’s actually above the £25m figure that many other news outlets have previously suggested that Valencia would accept.

I’ve also read reports claiming that Mustafi has been training away from the rest of the first team squad and won’t feature in Valencia’s next friendly on Wednesday night.

However, the German international appears to be in good spirits as he’s now broken his silence after taking to Twitter earlier this afternoon to post a message saying he’d completed his first training session of the day and was enjoying a break before he returns for his second session.

You’d hope that Wenger will table our offer as soon as possible and we’d really need to get a deal agreed on Wednesday to stand a chance of getting Mustafi registered in time to face Liverpool.

I’m not entirely sure what the delay is. Perhaps we’re waiting for Valencia to sign a replacement but we are in desperate need of a new centre-back so we should be doing all we can to get the deal agreed now. We have the money, so there is no excuse if we don’t get a player in before Friday.

Everton sell Stones and take less than a day to buy a decent experienced replacement and use the rest of the money to bid for Bolassie.Everyone else seems to be proactive in the Transfer Market and Arsenal quite the opposite. No proper planning on or off the pitch with the exception of making sure that all of the Board receive their yearly Dividends and/or “Consultancy” Fees!!

joel who cares what players everton buy they are not the same as us we do business at a higher level and already have better players then williams on our books.
your just another fan who thinks Arsenal sould buy for the sake of it without thinking it through. oh and you seem to have so much knowledge about tactics and what the team should do.
as for organisation yes we are in a mess thats why we were second last year do tell me where everton and the rest were
as for the directors getting paid dividends so what its their business not yours they put up money to buy it if you dont like it why dont you buy it yourself
owning a club is not a social thing even though fans like you think you own the club
you can only support your team and if you dont like it then go and support another team that buys lots of players every year and gettng no where

Absolutely spot on . couldn’t agree more. ..all these Johnny come lately fans who criticize Wenger dont understand how much of a feat it was to stay top 4 whilst we paid for the emirates. Arsene is a legend …..the idiots will only understand that when he has left

thenry you have a point. as lovers of arsenal, we like to see arsenal rule over others but when wenger pinches from the purse to buy and doesnt buy well, it is annoying. we need a striker to give giroud competition.. so many names have being brandished in the past days yet none has signed.we need strong players to see us through the long haul… i believe mustafi and a stiker will come in handy.COYG

It hurts me when even Arsenal fans do not have patience for our very own le proffesseur one thing people don’t know it’s that the type of business Arsenal has to do this year is very tricky we can’t just go around splashing money on any buy the player or players we need to get should be ones who would not upset the balance of the team who was the last Arsenal but that wenger spent over 15 million and was a flop look at that and you’ll see how much arsene has done for us at man utd you have fellaini di maria people like falcao man city have guys like bony dzeko jovetic Chelsea let’s not even start so you see let’s all be true fans and have patience

I said now so many times accept it Arsenal Fans no more signings until the next window when will have a repeat of the same action. Let’s hope the directors etc are happy with their dividends and add ons. Football at Arsenal is not as important as money in their pockets. SAME OLD SAME OLD
