Arsenal agree personal terms with Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku

By on June 24, 2016

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal are set to table a formal offer to Everton after agreeing personal terms with Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku.

Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new striker after Leicester City confirmed yesterday that Jamie Vardy has snubbed his proposed move to the Emirates in favour of signing a new deal at the King Power.

The boss has been mulling over alternative targets and the Daily Star reported earlier this week that we had opened talks over a potential deal to sign Lukaku.

It appears those talks have been positive as Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli has taken to Twitter today to claim that Arsenal have now agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old striker.

Giulianelli – who works for Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport among others – also suggests that Chelsea are pushing hard to re-sign Lukaku but Arsenal are now set to offer a formal bid to Everton after coming to an agreement with the player.

He tweeted:

We’ll have to wait and see how much truth there is behind these reports as we should probably take them with a pinch of salt for now as there is so much speculation flying around these days, but Lukaku would be a great signing if we could pull it off.

I don’t think he’s the finished article yet but the Belgian striker is big, strong, powerful, fast, is a decent finisher and importantly he has vast experience in the Premier League, so he has the potential to become a world class hitman.

Lukaku scored 25 goals for a poor Everton side last season and I personally think he’d be a much better fit at Arsenal than Vardy, however, even if these reports of personal terms being agreed are accurate, we will still find it tough to agree a fee with the Toffees.

Revealed: the REAL reason Vardy snubbed Arsenal

Everton have recently been taken over by a new billionaire owner so they are no longer the cash-strapped club they once were, and I think we’ll see them demanding upward of £45m-£50m for him.

He’s probably not worth that amount yet but we’re going to have to pay big money for a top class striker and at 23, Lukaku still has the time left to improve even further, so I’d love to see Wenger push the boat out to bring him to North London.

What a load of trash. So Arsenal are advertising that they have illegally approached a player prior to even lodging a bid, let alone having one accepted? Nothing will happen until Koeman has met with Lukaku.

45-50 MILL, I like a joke as much as anyone, BUT, anything less than 65m, you need help, or at least a lie down in a dark room.

That’s not the Arsenal way -agreeing terms with a player before talking with his club.

    40-50m.. That’s a joke!
so I’d hope to see Wenger to sign Slimani for 24m- Sporting Lissabon (31 goals last season. A great striker that can make the difference.

This is the season for goofers in journalism.
    Third rate is respectable.
For Vardy; he used Arsenal get a pay rise.
If a seaon is enough to be a star in England players like Aiyegbeni should get a statue all over England.

He didn’t use Arsenal to get a pay rise, he was afraid of the step up in class and the expectations involved.

More like he was afraid of not winning the Premier League again.

Arsenal FC and Arsen Wenger, are just being the selling for other clubs.
Always talk and no action or rather no money.
Xhaka is the only prayer bought this season too.

Believe anything that bloke writes at your peril.just during the last summer transfer window, he wrote lots of trash about transfers especially benzema to arsenal. None of his transfer speculations are real.he just writes to gain attention.

Whatever it is,Wenger shd not repeat shd not buy players who
or will be away for the ANC.Kanu springs to mind. Undoubtedly he was a class player but when needed for crucial games when Arsenal were battling rf for the epl,he was away.
So I hope the fm doesn’t buy such types of players. There are many in the market.

Haha funniest thing i’ve heard all day, firstly he was £28 million not £24 million, secondly £45 million wouldn’t get you one leg and lastly he is not for sale unless you are crazy enough to pay £75 million.Stop making stupid stories up,it’s getting really boring now.
