Arsenal eyeing £25m striker as one of 4 new signings this summer

By on May 4, 2016

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are eyeing a move for Inter Milan’s £25m-rated striker Mauro Icardi as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in FOUR new players this summer.

Wenger is set to stay on as manager, despite growing unrest among the clubs fanbase after a disappointing campaign, and it looks like the Frenchman is gearing up for a busy summer in the transfer market.

We’ve been crying out for Arsene to bring in a top class striker ever since Robin van Persie left four years ago and it looks like the boss is finally ready to oblige as the Mirror claim we’re eyeing a move for Mauro Icardi.

The Argentinean international is being tipped to leave Inter this summer, despite a solid season that’s seen him score 15 goals in 32 games, and the newspaper suggests the Italian outfit will cash-in at £25m – which seems a decent deal for a talented 23-year-old striker.

The Mirror claim that Icardi could be one of four new additions this summer as Wenger is supposedly also looking to bring in a new No.2 goalkeeper to replace David Ospina, a new centre-back and central midfielder – with Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky are all set to leave.

It’s suggested in the report that Atletico Madrid’s 20-year-old defender Lucas Hernandez is on our radar while the club are also understood to be confident of completing a deal for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka.

We’ll have to wait and see if any of these targets come off but I’d be pleased to see Icardi and Xhaka join the club this summer. Particularly Xhaka, as he’s a top class midfielder who would give us real depth in the middle of the park.

I’m not completely sold on Icardi yet and I’d prefer we went even bigger by targetting someone like Lewandowski, Benzema or Aubameyang, but if none of those marquee names are attainable then the Inter forward would be a solid back-up option.

The main problem is Wenger’s insistence on keep ball at all costs.
As a result the gunners performed an intricate dance in the box which is easily stifled.
Wenger is a football anachcronism and shd leave asap.

For various teams failure means something different. After the 2004-2005 for us is a failure if Arsenal is not a champion. Upon failure every decent person responsible for the failure resigned and retired with dignity. But apparently dignity is deficient for Wenger. Realy,he has a huge contribution to Arsenal but now it becomes a burden and a problem. And Wenger will become a fool of and reason for hatred and will not go instead with honors – will leave with booing and ridicule. There is a phenomenon in the elderly and it is called inadequacy and senile greed. I feel sorry for Wenger, but the more I feel sorry for my favorite team. Wenger go this summer, be a gentleman, be a man

prayers who are under performing in the
notably english prayer, such as jack, ramsey
gibbs, theo. how would u keep a midfielder
    having prayed 40games scoring 2goal
and are say he will improve.

Bonaroca:- I have been Arsenal well before Mr Wenger was born and there is no
doubt he has given Arsenal first class service as a Manager and the Emirate
Stadium but then a loyal gentleman like Mr Wenger after 19 years should be
advising the board for a top Manager to replace him for the simple reason
Arsenal are still playing the same game as when Viera,Henry,Bercham and Co
when presently he has’nt got that same talent although they try and keep up
    to their standards.
Much emphasis is made that Arsenal will be going into the transfer market, to
be honest I don’t believe one word. It is irritating according to Arsenal
they have many talented players many of whom are on loan. It seems to me that
many fall from grace or are not given enough exposure periodically to play
at a higher level, what’s the use of having an academy. Full Stop.

Mauro is not the right striker we need at the moment, we should go for world class please, it was that same 15 goals that Oliver Giroud scored before Wenger bought him from his formal club, we need a striker that can score more than 20 goals in a season

Bonaroca :- Mr Odey with the system Arsenal play with their tip tapping ball
passing is difficult for centre forwards to score for the simple reason that
at any point in time the opposing defence has already organised its defence
and to be outdone the minute one of their fast players start a counter
attack the result is the Arsenal defence would be caught flat footed and
this is why under Mr Wenger Arsenal have not been able to win the Premier
    League this year.
