Arsene Wenger has given the latest team news ahead of our trip to West Ham on Saturday and confirmed a double boost with Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini set to be available for selection.

Ramsey has been out since suffering a thigh injury having come off the bench during Arsenal’s 4-0 FA Cup replay win over Hull City at the KC Stadium over a month ago.

The Welsh international returned to first team training over two weeks ago and narrowly missed out on making his comeback against Watford last weekend.

However, the boss now says the 25-year-old midfielder could return to the squad on Saturday after enjoying a good training session yesterday.

In a double boost, Flamini could join Rambo in the squad that heads to Upton Park this weekend after the Frenchman recovered from a hamstring injury that he picked up again Barcelona last month.

The boss also confirmed that we haven’t suffered any fresh injury problems so all the players that faced Watford last weekend will be available against the Hammers on Saturday.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, Wenger is quoted by London24 as saying:

“We have a similar squad, everyone should be available who played against Watford,”

“Ramsey could join in because he had a good training session yesterday. Flamini is available.”

Obviously it’s a big boost that Ramsey is set to return but I personally don’t think he should come straight back in to the first eleven just yet. We’ve finally found a winning formula with Elneny alongside Coquelin in midfield and we should continue with that pairing once again this weekend.

Arsene has often played Ramsey out on the wing and while I would prefer to see the Welshman out wide than in the middle right now, Alex Iwobi has been in excellent form of late so it would be harsh to leave him out against West Ham on Saturday.

So let’s stick with the side that beat Watford [with Cech returning in goal], put Rambo on the bench and give him a run-out in the second half…
