Arsene Wenger has offered a brief update on injured trio Petr Cech, Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla and has ruled them all out until at least after the international break.

Cech has missed the last two matches against Tottenham and Hull City after suffering a calf injury during our 2-1 defeat at home to Swansea City last week.

Wilshere on the other hand is yet to play a single minute of competitive football this season after fracturing his fibula in pre-season and the midfielder has been slowly working his way back to full fitness.

Jack has suffered several setbacks throughout his recovery in recent months but is now back in light training as he bids to finally get himself available for selection.

Cazorla has also been on the sidelines since undergoing knee surgery in late November and like Wilshere, he’s been trying to build his fitness in light training this month.

Arsene says the trio are ‘progressing nicely’ but has confirmed that none will be available for selection either this week or next week, meaning they’ll miss games against Watford, Barcelona and Everton before the international break.

Wenger told Arsenal.com:

on Cech, Wilshere, Cazorla…
They are all progressing nicely, but this week and next week they have no chance.

Cech is expected to be back in contention when we entertain Watford on April 2nd and there’s a chance we could have one, if not both, of Wilshere and Cazorla available then too.

The midfielders are expected to step up their rehab over the next couple of weeks and as long as they don’t suffer any setbacks, we might see them back in the squad in early April.

That would be a huge boost, particularly with Aaron Ramsey set for a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury, and I think we’ve sorely missed Cazorla and Wilshere this season.
