Walcott out, Elneny starts in 4-2-3-1: My Arsenal XI To Face Swansea

By on March 1, 2016

Arsenal need a win against Swansea on Wednesday night in order to remain in the title race….this is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with.

Goalkeeper: Cech

Petr Cech will obviously start in goal once again tomorrow night.

Defence: Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal

Okay, I was one of the many fans who’s been calling for Gabriel to replace Mertesacker but the Brazilian was hugely disappointing on Sunday as he was partially at fault for the first two goals. We missed Per’s organisation at the back and for that reason he should get a recall alongside Koscielny.

Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are our first choice full-backs and there’s no reason to change things against Swansea.

Midfield: Elneny, Coquelin

Our midfield is all over the place right now. The Ramsey-Coquelin combination just isn’t working so it’s time to mix things up. Ramsey’s best position may be in the middle but he’s out of form at the minute and the team looked more balanced when he was out on the right, so I’d shift him back to the wing.

We badly miss Cazorla but while he’s still out, let’s give Elneny a chance alongside Coquelin to give us a bit of steal and protection in front of the defence.

Attack: Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez

Our attack has looked blunt for several weeks now and we lacked ideas at Old Trafford on Sunday. Perhaps moving Ramsey to the right will give us a new dimension and Danny Welbeck needs a rest after playing over 80 minutes on his first league start in nearly a year.

Ozil grabbed a goal and an assist against United but he needs some help and it’s time Sanchez found his form again. The Chilean has been out of sorts for weeks and some have suggested he should be dropped, but he’s arguably our best player when on form so hopefully he can get back to his best asap…..starting against Swansea.

Striker: Giroud

Walcott switched with Welbeck regularly throughout the United game but whether he was up front or on the right, he was anonymous. I’ve no idea why Theo was so poor at the weekend but he certainly doesn’t deserve to keep his place so I’d recall Giroud up top.

This would be my line-up:

This eleven is more than capable of getting all three points against the Swans and if we don’t pick up a much-needed win, we can forget about the title for another yet…..let’s see what they’re really made of.

I would prefer Joel Campbell to start vs Swansea. Either Ramsey or Sanchez to sit on bench in your lineup for Joel Campbell to start. He deserves a start tomorrow.

For God’s sake why is Wenger wasting Campbell in the bench. That boy was playing better when Alexis was not there. He is intelligent in his passes and can hold the ball pretty well.I would prefer him alongside Ozil on the left.Give Sanchez, Ramsey and Theo a rest we lost games coz of this trio.Giroud to follow suit if he remains static. It is time Wenger looked at our under 21 team for striker options.Senior team has no strikers all are in slumber land now!

the first person who need a REST is Ramsey. He has been useless the whole season.. Danny, Campbell and Sanchez up top and we win this game.

Walcott needs a two game run with the U-21s.

by looking at your team there could be the tendancy to overely on sanchez and giroud for the goals. mayb its time our manager goes back to the midfield diamond with ozil up top n elneny n rambo just bhnd him and le coq just infront of the back four. uptop sanchez n campbell will work with their ability to pool diffenders wide creating space.
