Arsenal fans rage after referee confirmed for FA Cup clash
Arsenal fans are understandably raging after the Football Association confirmed that Mike Dean will be in charge of our FA Cup clash with Hull City this weekend.
We welcome the Tigers to the Emirates this Saturday for our fifth round tie as we bid to lift the FA Cup for a third consecutive season.
However, it appears the FA are doing all they can to ensure that doesn’t happen after appointing Dean as the match official for the game.
Understandably, fans have been enraged by this decision and have been venting their frustrations on social media sites like Twitter today.
Dean has a long history of being involved in controversial decisions while refereeing Arsenal games and I’m sure none of you will forget that he’s been caught ‘celebrating’ twice following Tottenham goals.
The man is everything that’s wrong with the refereeing in this country. He’s an egotistical tw*t who thinks the game is all about him, and when it’s not, he makes sure he gets his ‘headline’ moment. Which usually involves sending an Arsenal player off.
Good work FA. Let’s see how Dean manages to screw us this weekend….
Here’s confirmation from the FA’s website:
Arsenal v Hull City
12.45pm, Saturday 20 February
Referee Michael Dean
Assistant Referees Adam Nunn & Harry Lennard
Fourth Official Paul Tierney

Looks to me the FA doesnt want Arsenal to win the FA and epl.
Some of these refs are fit to officiate at village level. So don’t be surprised the gunners get kicked out thanks to the ref’s biased decision.

Wolfgang, if Arsenal show 10% of the attitude Leicester City have shown all season then we won’t have to worry about what the ref does. Maybe stop playing 18 Wheeler Lorry turning Mertesacker and Flamini and start to play the quality youth Awobi, and other in the right position then see what happens. Wenger sees 4th as trophy remember? while Leicester City want to come first and win the EPL with their main players from lower English Leagues instead of French ones who are total rubbish.

God save us from Mike Dean. I think we need to go into prayers for God’s mercy. Is FA up to something????

Bonaroca:- The minute I saw Dean’s name to referee the Arsenal/Hull FA Cup
I got goose flesh. English referees were always considered to be the best
because they were fair and honest, unfortunately, now some of them with
changing time are following some European referees which the English press
used to criticise. The penalties against Arsenal and Man C. are a good
example.
I wonder if the FA Referees are not able to control this situation then I
think with matches being recorded whether an independent authority could be
chosen to review any protest from respective clubs.
The problem if spectators could view a foul or otherwise, why can’t out of
4 assistants notice a wrong doing and flag their flags to help the man in
middle although the linesmen on many occasions are somehow even prone to
glaring errors.

Looking at comments on here you can see how we Arsenal fans fool ourselves every season and please to finish 4th.
Blaming the ref who bottled giving Leicester the 2nd penalty after Nacho, dangled another stupid leg out. Show some guts and spirit like Leicester and we will be fine but, can’t see any of that yet. If Simpson didn’t get him self sent off we would of been torn apart.
