Sanchez In, Campbell Out: My Arsenal Line-Up To Face Chelsea

Arsenal have a great opportunity to make a real statement in the title race when we take on champions Chelsea at the Emirates on Sunday….this is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with.

Goalkeeper: Cech

Petr Cech should keep his place in goal, obviously.

Defence: Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal

I think this is the perfect game for Gabriel to start alongside Laurent Koscielny at the back. Costa has been passed fit to start and we know he loves a battle, and Gabriel is far more capable of mixing it with the Chelsea striker than Mertesacker.

I’m sure you’ll all remember the row Gabriel had with Costa in the game at Stamford Bridge which resulted in our man being incorrectly sent off [the red card was rescinded by the FA], so who wouldn’t want to see those two go at it again on Sunday?!

Bellerin and Monreal should keep their places as they are head and shoulders above Debuchy and Gibbs right now.

Midfield: Ramsey, Flamini

Mohamed Elneny is available to make his debut by I think it would be a big risk throwing him in against Chelsea. I’m no fan of Flamini but I think he’s the best bet alongside Ramsey this weekend.

Coquelin is back in full training but is going to need at least another week before he’s fit enough for the first team while Cazorla is still on the sidelines, so it looks like it’ll be Flamini-Ramsey again on Sunday.

Attack: Sanchez, Ozil, Walcott

Sanchez is back in contention after finally overcoming his hamstring injury. The boss has hinted he might not risk him from the start but if he’s fit enough to be on the bench, he should be fine to start the game and we need our Chilean super-star back against Chelsea.

The big question is who should miss out. Campbell has been in excellent form recently and it would be harsh to drop him, but I still think Walcott is more of a threat and he usually enjoys playing against Chelsea so I’d give him the nod.

Ozil is also set to return after missing the Stoke game so hopefully he’ll pick up where he left off.

Striker: Giroud

Giroud was outstanding against Liverpool but a little quieter against Stoke last week. Hopefully we can give him some better service on Sunday with Ozil and possibly Sanchez back in the team.

This would be my line-up:

What do you think? What team would you go with?

On walcott current form there is no way he deserves to start over campbell, but apart from that everyone else on that team is exactly who i would start with.

I´m with Jonathan…now see starting Walcott only slippery-slopes the type of play we don´t need. Given, Campbell has finally made Theo show a bit more effort. But we need the type of defense pressure and tone that Campbell will set. This is what disrupts fragile teams, and fragile balances like that with which Chelsea are strapped-together with. Before we know it…Azpilicueta, Ivanovic and Mikel are coughing up the ball in all the wrong places.

I am with Jonathan and manamongst74. Theo has been very very bad and Campbell has been playing very very good. I think wenger will go with Theo though, i hope Theo has a good game. His close ball control = terrible, tracking back = terrible, work rate = terrible,He however is very direct (Rather go towards the goal and shoot) and scores goals from time to time

I think Giroud should be benched for Theo to be at CF.Sanchez and Campbell should be on the wings.

Wenger played Theo as centre forward in the game at Stamford Bridge earlier this season and it didn’t work out. I think the choice for the starting 11 should be between Campbell and Sanchez, which seems a little harsh on Campbell. I’m more worried about Flamini and Ramsey in the middle because they don’t seem able to keep the ball and control games, which is detrimental against teams with quality like Willian, Fabregas and Hazard.

Will be tough on whoever is left out for alexis, but best to start and then take him off uninjured. Than to bring him on cold and risk a hamstring strain.

I personally think it could be giroud that gets benched with a front 3 of campbell Walcott alexis giving the old boys like terry and ivanovic a tough time. One good thing the bench will be looking strong then with chamberlain giroud and Elneny hopefully coming on. Obviously ospina, mertesacker gibbs and either chambers or arteta will be there should the defensive side of the game need it.

I personally think that Giroud should be benched. The intensity of this game is exceptionally high and based on his performance against Stoke, I don’t think he’s up for a challenge. Walcott should be played at CF and Chamberlain should take his place on the wings. Also, I think Gibbs should get a chance at LB. He’s got better attacking and scoring instinct in my opinion.
