It looks like our injury woes are slowly easing with Alexis Sanchez, Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Francis Coquelin all closing in on making their first team returns.

Sanchez has been out since suffering a hamstring injury during our draw at Norwich in November and a potential comeback against Man City last month was put on the back-burner after he suffering a setback in training.

However, the Chilean star is back in training and the Telegraph claim he could be in contention to make his comeback against Sunderland in our FA Cup third round clash on Saturday.

Arsene is highly unlikely to start Alexis but he may give him a second half run-out in order to improve his match fitness ahead of next Wednesday’s trip to Liverpool.

In a further boost, Arteta is back in full training and took part in the Under-21’s win over Blackburn on Tuesday afternoon [photos can be seen here], so he could also be in contention for a place in the squad this weekend.

I’m not sure Mikel is ready to start just yet but he could be on the bench and offer an experienced head if we need it in the second half.

Rosicky is also on the comeback trail as the Czech international has also resumed training after finally recovering from a serious knee injury that he picked up last summer.

It’s not clear how long Rosicky will need to build up his fitness but I’d be surprised if we saw him in the first team for at least three weeks.

The Telegraph also had an update on Coquelin and they claim the midfielder is already back running and is targetting his comeback next month. Coquelin’s return will be a MAJOR boost as he’s been sorely missed since suffering his knee injury against West Brom in November.

So it looks like four of our injured players are well on the road to recovery while Wilshere and Welbeck could also be back next month, but we’ll have to wait until March before Cazorla is available again.
