Tweets: Sanchez & Wilshere hail ‘breathtaking’ Arsenal performance
Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez have praised their Arsenal team mates for our sensational performance against Olympiakos last night.
An Olivier Giroud hat-trick sealed a 3-0 victory in Athens to secure second place in Group F and book our place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Wilshere missed the game as he continues to recover from a fractured fibula but he was quick to post a message on Twitter after last night’s game hailing what he called a ‘breathtaking’ performance by the team.
Sanchez also couldn’t feature against Olympiakos as he’s back in Chile recovering from a hamstring injury but he too took to Twitter to celebrate reaching the knockout stages.
The pair are expected to return to the squad later this month so hopefully they can stay fit and be available for our last 16 ties in February.
