Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal.com a team news and injury update ahead of our Premier League clash with Norwich City on Sunday afternoon.

The boss confirmed that Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to return to the squad after finally overcoming a hamstring injury that he picked up against Sheffield Wednesday last month.

It will be a major boost to have The Ox back in contention as our options in attack have been severely limited in recent weeks so he, along with Ramsey, will add a huge amount of quality to the squad this weekend.

The boss also reiterated that Arteta’s calf injury should be short-term after he was forced off against West Brom last weekend but Coquelin is facing around 12 weeks on the sidelines with knee ligament damage.

There was some positive news on Walcott with Wenger revealing that he’s suffered no reaction after running again on Tuesday. Theo won’t be available for the trip to Carrow Road this weekend but he’s edging his way back to full fitness.

Arsene told the clubs website:

on the team news…

We should have everyone available [from the Zagreb game], the players that played on Tuesday night plus maybe Oxlade-Chamberlain should be back in the squad.

on Arteta and Coquelin…

Arteta is short-term but Coquelin as I told you is much longer. The scans are positive because he does not need any surgery but it will be 12 weeks.

on Theo Walcott…

Not for Sunday. He goes through a few tests and steps but the first one was successful. He started running again on Tuesday morning and had no reaction.

Wenger also revealed some potentially worrying news that Sanchez is suffering from a minor hamstring concern. The Chilean international will be assessed over the next 48 hours but Arsene says he will resist the temptation to rest his star man if he’s passed fit.

In a further concern, Joel Campbell is also a doubt after picking up a calf problem and he too will be assessed ahead of the Norwich clash.

Arsene is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail:

‘I will have to assess that a bit later. Spontaneously it might not be the best moment to rest Alexis but I don’t know.

‘He had a little hamstring alarm but we will see how he recovers from that. Campbell had a little calf problem so I will assess all that on Friday, latest Saturday.

Let’s not take any chances with Alexis. It would be insane to start him this weekend if there is any doubt over his hamstring so let’s just give him a breather. Ramsey and Chamberlain are back so we have options in attack now.
