Wenger Confirms Arsenal Attacker Has Suffered Injury Set-Back

Danny Welbeck

Arsenal have been dealt another injury blow after boss Arsene Wenger confirmed that Danny Welbeck is now facing at least another three weeks on the sidelines.

Welbeck hasn’t played since injuring his knee way back in April of last season. The injury was initially though to be a minor one and he was expected back within a few days.

However, it’s turned out to be far more serious than first thought and Danny has been struggling to shake-off the problem for the last four months.

There appeared to be an end in sight when Arsene said last week that Welbeck was getting close to a return to fitness and there were suggestions he could even be back in the squad to face Crystal Palace on Sunday.

But unfortunately it looks like the attacker has suffered another set-back as the boss has revealed at his press conference this morning that Welbeck is still at least three weeks away from returning to fitness.

This is really getting a bit silly now and how a ‘minor’ injury has turned into over four months on the sidelines is a mystery. There is bruising on Welbeck’s knee bone but surely is shouldn’t take this long to heal?

I suppose we’re going to have to just see how things go and trust the medical department will get to the bottom of it eventually, but hopefully that will be sooner rather than later as we could do with another option is attack during these early stages of the season.

The news comes after we learned that Tomas Rosicky is also facing at least two months out after knee surgery while Jack Wilshere is still out with an ankle problem.

Love to see Danny Welbeck’s take on this, going to put a few quid on him being sold this window.

There is no need for Arsene Wenger to complain about injuries, other clubs were busy re-building their teams, but for MR KNOW IT ALL, he thinks he can win the league with the players on his disposal, which I totally disagree. Wenger should not be thick headed about the love of money and buy the required players. He cannot win the league without a top class striker and a defensive midfielder in case of Coquelin getting injured, they will be someone to cover that gap. Wenger must wake up, he will go for more than 20 years without winning the league, because of his attitude.
