Arsenal Ready To Complete Surprise Signing Next Week – Reports

By on August 14, 2015

According to the Express, Arsenal are lining-up a surprise move for Olympiakos goalkeeper Roberto during the closing stages of the transfer window.

We’ve been very quiet so far in the market with Petr Cech our only significant new addition and the majority of the newspaper speculation has linked us with strikers or midfielders in recent weeks.

But the Express are citing a report which originates from Marca that claims Arsenal are eyeing another goalkeeper – this time Olympiakos stopper Roberto.

The newspaper suggests that Arsene Wenger is ready to pay £4.3m to trigger the 29-year-old’s buy-out clause and they even say a deal could be wrapped-up by next week.

It remains to be seen if that will be the case but it looks like Arsene is on the market for another keeper, which makes sense considering the players who’ve left recently.

Szczesny is obviously off on loan to Roma while Martinez just joined Wolves on loan leaving Ospina as our only experienced back-up to Cech. Therefore, we ideally need to bring in another option and it appears Roberto is on Arsene’s radar.

The Spaniard has been a busy boy during his career as he’s played for seven different clubs over the past nine years and only joined Olympiakos on a permanent basis from Atletico Madrid last summer.

He’d be a solid third choice but I’m a  little surprised we’ve opted to go for him as I’m not convinced he’ll give up first team football in Greece to not even sit on our bench every week.

Wenga will be active in the transfer window without a tangible thing to show for it. What an actor?

Wenger better not waste any more time to get the gunners challenging.
Another setback at CP ,will I am afraid, cast grave doubts as to whether this will be the season the gunners finally get going.
The gunners are often stifled if they don’t get time and space to play
their natural passing game. I remembered one red face saying to beat Arsenal flood the md and hit on the break.
It seems Wenger can’t find or doesn’t want to find options to counter
these tactics. He has been on the losing side 7/10 when teams play anti soccer.
Hopefully he can beat CP . I will be satisfied with a 1-0 win. After all it’s still a win regardless of whether you play the right way.

I am tired of wenger doing his transfer businesses on deadline days.this can’t give the team enough preparations ahead of new seasons. Diehard gooner in uganda.

Wenger is against the transfer window lasting past the start of the season but it seems he does most of his last last minute shopping after this time. When will he stop tracking, following, plotting,
planning and missing players that are available?

wenger is a very stupid man. he just like economic but we fans we hate that. he better bring in Benzima even if costing 50millions let him sign. the issue of missing out on signing the targets realy make me to feel discourage and even choose to change him out and Henry in..

First of all arsenal major problem was not goalkeeping but the chronic disease since henry and van p left there has been lack of a focus and a credit strike to steer arsenal to champion and wenger’s transfer policy played a great role in making arsenal a big flop. Giruod is the greatest agent of failure at arsenal and as long as wenger still trust him arsenal going no where

Wenger is a very very big fool he loves following, scouting, and making wrong decisions instead off tackling the major problem at arsenal. He should sign a top quality no 9 like benzema no matter what it takes and a very good defensive midfielder. That’s arsenal’s problem for now. Arsenal has the money but wenger is very very stingy with, it makes me want to stop supporting arsenal at times because arsenal are been classified as lookers.

Wenger thinks more about money than Trophies, top 4 & that is a success for him, but i cant believe a lot of Arsenal fans accept it, if we beat palace you we all say we are title contenders again, no wonder wenger wont buy when he knows Arsenal fans are easily pleased,

What annoys me most is; every season our coach is d coat dat is always looking for top top quality players to buy, yet he has not won d league for ten years. pelegrini came n won s league in his first season, morinho came back for his second spell n won d league in his second season, yet Mr Wenger keep complaining how hard it is to find quality n available players. Costa was available morinho signed him. even dis season, Jackson Martinez, Andriano, Vidal, Douglas Costa, Christian Benteke etc had quality n were available yet he didn’t sign any of dem yet he opens he dirty mouth to say finding quality n available players is a challenge. only God knows what he would do to dat stingy man for all he has made us go through as Arsenal fans.

Agree with innocent. There is no need to elaborate. MU have been criticized for not having the park/innovation etc despite winning.
I don’t care how Arsenal win as long as they win.Football is full
of teams who have won despite being outplayed for 89 min.
Recall Arsenal 4-NU 4 and you will know what I mean. And who forget
Wimbledon’s win in the cup against all conquering Pool. The one to
top it must surely be MU’ miraculous escape against MM 1999.
I want Arsenal to go direct andfast to win instead of th e endless passing.
