Arsenal To Move For World Class Attacker As Wenger Eyes 3 Signings

By on March 27, 2015

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are readying a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus as Arsene Wenger plans to bring in at least three new signings this summer.

The newspaper claims that the boss wants a new central midfielder, a central defender and possibly a goalkeeper but he’s now also made a pacey attacker a top priority due to concerns over the future of Theo Walcott.

Theo was forced to take to Twitter yesterday to refute rumours of a bust-up with Arsene Wenger but in doing so, he also revealed that talks over a new contract haven’t even started yet.

With the 25-year-old currently unable to force his way into Arsene’s starting eleven, he may decide not to renew his contract – which has just over 12 months to run.

We won’t want to lose him for nothing so if no extension is signed by the summer then we may decide to cash-in and the Telegraph claims that Wenger has made Reus his top priority as a replacement.

The German international was reportedly close to joining Arsenal last summer before picking up a ankle injury but he’s since signed a new long-term deal at Dortmund, so it’s not going to be easy to lure him away from the Westfalonstadion.

However, if we could somehow do so, then it would be a sensational signing as Reus is one of the best attackers in Europe. His record for Dortmund is excellent, with 53 goals and 45 assists in 166 games, so he’d be the perfect replacement for Theo.

The Telegraph have also reported that we’re leading the chase for Petr Cech so if we could sign him and Reus, as well as Morgan Schneiderlin and a back-up centre-back, then I think we’d finally have a squad capable of competing for the top honours again.

In fact, Cech, Schneiderlin and Reus would be my dream signings for those three positions, so it’s safe to say I’d be one happy Gooner if we could somehow pull them off.

Marco Reus has supporters but I am not one of them. I doubt if he could be useful in EPL- in fact I doubt it. Wenger has been chasing him ever since but I personally believe we should keep Theo Walcott because he is exactly what we need: speed, tricks and experience in EPL top level not another waste of moneyon German imports. Lets us not repeat the mistake of 2 years ago in which we paid £42m for a lemon. Although we redeemed ourselves by mugging Barcelona for £15m by selling them a pig in a poke in form of Vaemallen we should not even think about buying that Khedira coz he is damaged goods.
