Arsenal Confirm HUGE Blow With Star Out For 12 Weeks After Surgery

By on November 27, 2014

Arsenal have confirmed that Jack Wilshere has undergone surgery on his ankle injury and will be out for around three months.

Jack was forced off early on in the second half against Man Utd on Saturday after receiving a shocking tackle from Paddy McNair – which went unpunished I may add.

Conflicting reports emerged earlier this over the severity of injury but Arsene Wenger confirmed on Tuesday that Jack had damaged ligaments and he expected the 22-year-old to be out for ‘a while’, but refused to confirm suggestions he would be out for months until after he’d seen a specialist today.

It looks like the specialist confirmed the worst and the club have now announced that Wilshere has had successful surgery on his ankle and will be out for around three months.

A statement on Arsenal.com read:

Jack Wilshere had successful surgery on his left ankle and will be out for approximately three months.

The England international sustained the injury to his ankle ligaments during the Premier League match with Manchester United on Saturday at Emirates Stadium.

An assessment with a specialist confirmed the need for an operation and the 22-year-old had successful surgery to his ankle in London on Thursday afternoon.

Jack will now commence his injury rehabilitation programme with the Arsenal medical team.

Everyone at the club wishes Jack a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch as soon as possible.

It’s another bitter blow not only for Jack but also for Arsenal as with Mikel Arteta also facing a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury, we’re short of option in midfield.

Let’s hope both Jack and Mikel make speedy recoveries and that injuries won’t ruin this season more than they have done already….

Sorry for Jack but we will do better with Santi as the play maker. Please look at the results when one has played and then the other.
