Arsene Wenger has given a team news update to Arsenal.com ahead of Saturday’s clash with Burnley.

The boss confirmed that Kieran Gibbs is a doubt after picking up a hip injury during the second half against Sunderland last weekend.

The 25-year-old will be assessed after training on Friday before any decision is made but I have a feeling he’ll be involved. If not then Nacho Monreal will start at left-back with Chambers in the middle and Bellerin at right-back.

Jack Wilshere returns from a one game ban following his fifth booking of the season while Yaya Sanogo is also back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury that’s kept him on the sidelines since mid-August.

However, Serge Gnabry and Abou Diaby are still a few weeks away from being in contention to return to the first team fold. The duo are likely to continue to feature for the under-21’s as they bid to improve their match fitness after lengthy injuries.

Wenger said:

on the team news…

There are a few uncertainties, like Kieran Gibbs. But we’ll know more tomorrow. Apart from that everyone should be available. Wilshere is back from suspension. We have no other injuries and no one else coming back into the squad.

on Kieran Gibbs…

It is a hip problem. He came off at Sunderland with 20 minutes to go. He is a doubt but we’ll know more tomorrow.

on Yaya Sanogo…

He is back available.

on Serge Gnabry and Abou Diaby…

They are not quite ready yet. Gnabry is closer than Diaby fitness-wise. He is a couple of weeks away.

Arsenal board should be counting abu diaby as an arsenal player. What a shame to the club?

Gab, I WD add that Diaby as a person not a metaphor shd be allowed to leave the club to save his wages and other expense we incur to have him. He cost an arm and leg. My conclusion is he will never amount to anything.

Stop with crapy posting, suggesting dumping players when they get injured playing for the team. Diaby will recover and will return to his magnificient form soon.

Well they finally get well, and reach form, then they leave Arsenal. Example is Van Pu**y.
