Arsenal Hit With ANOTHER Injury Blow As Ospina Faces 3 Months Out

By on October 21, 2014

Arsenal have been hit by a fresh injury blow with David Ospina facing up to three months on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

Ospina joined Arsenal in the summer in a £3m move from Nice but his early months at the club have been plagued by injury.

The 26-year-old was initially ruled out with a thigh injury that he picked up while playing for Colombia at the World Cup and he was made to wait until our Capital One Cup clash with Southampton to make his debut last month.

He made another appearance for the first team three weeks ago when he came on midway through the second half to replace Szczesny when he was sent off against Galatasaray.

However, according to Mirror journalist John Cross, the keeper’s thigh problem has flared up again and scans have confirmed he’ll be out until well into the New Year.

It’s another huge blow and these injuries just keep getting worse. Something seriously has to be done about this ridiculous injury situation.

With Ospina now out for the foreseeable future, youngster Emiliano Martinez has the opportunity to step up starting with tomorrow’s clash with Anderlecht.

can anyone explain how so many of our players get injured on our training pitch is our training methods too demanding?Maybe if some of the effort which seems to be exerted there was evident on the pitch on match day we might be on top of the league.

Well Gooner4life this does not apply to Ospina …. BUT. Our medics get the blame and it is the Manager who is in fact to blame. The recently appointed fitness / preparation expert from Germany … has already stated to the German press that our methods are “prehistoric.” We do not use GRADUATED TRAINING …. which means different regimes of varied severity for players who are young or old / have played in the week or have not / are analysed by GPS as running (say)10km per match for a midfielder or (say) 4km perhaps for a central defender. Wenger still uses one training regime fits all and has refused to change. All the medics and the coaches (and no doubt all the senior players ) have been well aware but dare do nothing about it. The Directors may not be aware, I don’t know … but anyway Wenger is more powerful than all the Directors (except Kroenke who is an absentee). From inside the club I am told the situation is FAR WORSE than even the critics realise !!!
