Arsenal ‘Make Offer’ For PERFECT World Cup Superstar – Report

By on June 19, 2014

Some interesting reports coming out of Chile with a respected journalist claiming that Arsenal are one of four clubs to have made an offer for Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean international has been impressing at the World Cup but his Barcelona future is in doubt with speculation suggesting the club are willing to sell this summer as he doesn’t feature in new boss Luis Enrique’s plans.

Chile-based journalist Rodrigo Norambuena has now been quoted in South American newspaper COPE as saying that Sanchez has also become unsettled at the Nou Camp due to his poor relationship with Lionel Messi and he’s apparently instructed his agent to find a new club.

Many European newspapers suggest that Juventus are closest to agreeing a deal with Barca. However, while Norambuena admits the Serie A champions are in for Sanchez, he claims that the attacker would prefer a switch to the Premier League and he isn’t short of takers as Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd have all tabled offers.

Norambuena is believed to be a well-respected journalist in Chile and works with the likes of Fox Sports, so he could be a pretty reliable source. Obviously news of Arsenal interest has gone down extremely well among Gunners fans and he’s fast becoming the player all supporters would like to see come to the Emirates this summer.

I think he’d be a sensational signing and he’s exactly the type of player we need to sign this summer. He is fast, powerful, has an eye for goal, is coming to his peak years and has vast experience at the top level. He’s absolutely PERFECT for us. The main problem is fighting off the competition.

If we check the current football odds online, Arsenal are fourth favourites to be Sanchez’s next club at 10/1, with Juve the favourites at 7/2 and Liverpool and United around 5/1. We can match all three clubs financially and can offer Champions League football, which should put us ahead of United.

If Sanchez does want to come to England, then Liverpool could be our main rivals and I believe we have more financial firepower than the Merseysiders, so despite what the bookies think, maybe we are his most likely destination? It could be worth a cheeky tenner.

Let’s see how things develop as nothing is going to happen while he’s away at the World Cup, but I’d be delighted if we could manage to bring Sanchez to north London this summer and I think he could be the player to bring the best out in Mesut Ozil.

Wenger and Arsenal have signed players the media have linked us with. Sagna and Polodski were heavily linked before signing for us.

If he arrives then Carzola will probably make way. I think it would be a great situation. Carzola’s had two good season’s and looks like he wants to go back to Spain.
