Santi Cazorla Keen On €20m Atletico Move – Reports

By on June 13, 2014

According to reports in Spain, Santi Cazorla is keen on leaving Arsenal to join Atleitco Madrid this summer in a €20m deal.

We brought you the news eariler this week that Atletico were lining-up an audacious move for Cazorla after boss Diego Simeone made him one of his key summer transfer targets.

The speculation was almost immediately dismissed by Arsenal fans as Santi only recently signed a new contract and hasn’t given any indication that he’s unhappy in north London.

However, despite this, the Mirror are citing Spanish newspaper AS as reporting that the attacking midfielder wants to return to his homeland and is keen on making the switch if Atletico can agree a deal.

The La Liga champions are believed to be ready to pay €20m for Cazorla, which sounds like a reasonable fee for a player approaching 30, but I’d still be hugely surprised to see him sold this summer.

The playmaker was strongly linked with a move to the Vicente Calderon last summer and there were even reports he had agreed personal terms, but Arsene dismissed any notion of letting Cazorla leave and he went on to play a key role in us securing the FA Cup last season.

I personally don’t believe for one second that Santi is pushing for a move and with him penning  a new deal just months ago, we are under no pressure to sell even if he was. This is most likely just mischief-making from the Spanish press, so I’m not getting too concerned just yet.

Santi, should not be allowed to leave, he is a very and highly important player. Santi has just sign a new contract and cant just think of leaving. Wenger pls Santi is not 4 sale and should not be sold, we need our players to be together and make a strong team next season. Up Gunners.
