Thierry Henry Congratulates Fabregas After He Completes Chelsea Move

By on June 12, 2014

It’s become another dark day in Arsenal’s history after Cesc Fabregas broke our hearts by signing for Chelsea this afternoon.

After months of speculation, the west Londoners finally put us out our misery by confirming they have agreed a fee – believed to be around £30m – with Barcelona and Cesc has penned a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old posted a statement on his Facebook page where he confirmed Arsenal had turned down the chance to re-sign him, and basically admitted that Chelsea were his next best option:

An extract said:

Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take this option and therefore it wasn’t meant to be. I wish them well in the future.

I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice.

He also posted a photo of him wearing his new No.4 Chelsea shirt but I can’t bring myself to publish it on here.

Arsene Wenger has a lot of work to do now to convince Arsenal fans it was the correct decision to pass up the opportunity to re-sign Cesc. Let’s be honest, the player would have jumped at the chance to re-join us and Chelsea are his next best option simply because he wants to return to London where his girlfriend and daughter are.

The Spaniard joins a long list of players, and most worryingly, several former captains, who have left Arsenal only to go on and join our direct rivals.

Of our last four skippers, William Gallas has joined Tottenham, Robin van Persie joined Manchester United and now Fabregas has joined Chelsea. The exception is current captain Thomas Vermaelen, but knowing our luck he’ll join Liverpool this summer.

For me, it’s a huge worry the amount of recent captains who don’t seem to care about tarnishing their memories with Arsenal by joining a rival. Do these players not know what it means to be captain of Arsenal?! Wenger really needs to pick his captains better in future and his first port of call is to hand the armband to Per….

Twitter is not an easy place to be for an Arsenal fan right now so it was even more heart-breaking to see Gunners legend Thierry Henry congratulating Cesc on his move.

Obviously it was nice to see Thierry say he wishes Fabregas was back in the red half of north London, it I still found it hard to see him wish Cesc well. I’d have preferred he did in it private or not all.

The thought of Cesc coming back to the Emirates wearing a Chelsea shirt, playing on the same team as John Terry and being managed by Mourinho used to be the thing of nightmares. Sadly, today that nightmare become a reality…..

There’s got to be a reason that the Arsenal didn’t re sign him, I’m sure it will come out later.

To be fair, do you really want Cesc back?? If he is prepared to sink that low and sign for a dirty team that goes against EVERYTHING cesc should stand for then that shows what kind of person he really is! I’m happy he has proved himself a liar, a hypocrite and to be disloyal! He doesn’t deserve to play for Arsenal after this!!!
I wish we could go back in time and never give him the chance to become world class! He would be nothing now without Arsenal!! He is a scumbag traitor and doesn’t deserve to have a privileged life as a footballer!
It is quite funny that the best footballing team in England reject him and the best footballing team in the world couldn’t wait to get rid of him! So he ends up at a team who plays an awful brand of football! lol! from beautiful football to anti-football! Poor cesc! Actually feel sorry for him!
Anyways, we dont need him, he has proved what kind of person he really is plus as a gooner, im more than used to disloyal mercenaries! the more it happens, the easier it is to get over!! F*ck you cesc, enjoy learning how to play centre back and not being allowed to attack!! I hope you have a career ending injury or at least flop like torres!
oh yeah and if there are any gangsters or murderers reading this….fabregas has given you permission to kill him!!! Surely there is a gooner assassin out there somewhere? MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! Then again, he is dead to me now already!

      You are absolutely right !

Spot on mate well done !

We don’t need a world class central midfielder do we ?

Thanks Chelsea, you really helped us dodge a bullet there…

I have always said that Arsenal fans are the thickest, most short sighted c**ts in the world of football.

And you have proven me right.

      Thanks !

Screw you man. don’t insult Arsenal fans for being angry at the man we supported even after he left and now returned to sign for the worst team in the world, managed by a man who has zero respect for the man fabregas called his second father. we don’t really need him anyway, there are more pressing issues and the money we saved by not resigning that deserter can go towards strengthening our striking options, reinforcing our defence, and getting a proper holding midfielder.

I completely agree with you RealG and disagree with many of our other fans. When we needed him most Fabregas deserted us for his boyhood club. What did this mean? It meant that to him Arsenal was second and Barcelona first. Now that his best choice has rejected him the club he deserted when it was in desperate need has also shown its back on him! That is how life is. The Arsenal which adored Fabregas then now has no need for him. Why? Because Arsenal has top attacking options namely Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Ozil, Rosicky and the youngsters Chamberlain, Gnabry, Zelalem etc. These players are basking in glory after breaking the jinx of not winning a trophy in nine years which Fabregas and co. could not break. Why change a winning team? Remember the American saying “If it ain’t broke, why fix it?”. In reality bringing back Fabregas could have destabilised our team which is now looking up to even greater things. There is no reason why we should berate Wenger for having refused to be treated as a dumping ground. Wenger has done the correct thing and he desrves commendation rather than condemnation.

Dude why are you this bitter? Your so called “best footballing team in England” did not want him back, so he signed for Chelsea. He obviously made a decision to benefit him and his family, so get over it. I really don’t see what’s wrong with him signing for Chelsea, who by the way, always finish on top of your so called “best footballing team in England”. I’m an American, and neutral to English teams, so I’m not being biased in saying that this move clearly shows Chelsea is a team with ambition, and in a rebuilding phase in terms of their football philosophy. I just love to watch a beautiful football game played, and I think cesc will definitely provide that with Chelsea..so as opposed to you being bitter that he signed for your rival, you should blame your manager for not wanting him back. Period!……And as for you wishing him killed, clearly shows how pathetic and an imbecile you really are, in wishing death upon someone you’ve never met. It’s really amazes me when asshole’s like you post disgusting meaningless comments on sites like these, with hopes that the intended footballer would actually take time out of their busy schedules to read these. Just sad.

Cheque Fabregas made the decision what was best for him.

    It doesn’t matter anyway

Arsenal have no ambition to sign top class players so naturally they would not be interested in him.

They want the awesome talents of Carlos Vela

    It oozes class

    Ronaldo, Messi, Ibrahimovic, Vela

    Spot the odd one out…

I am gutted but not surprised, Wenger has no ambitions at all for Arsenal

What Arsenal need now is world class striker, right back winger and a world class midfilder. Thanks to the blues.

I agree on the striker and right back and a reinforcement winger, but we have 3 world class midfielders in the form of Özil, Santi and Ramsey already, and everybody else in our midfield is class with JW and the Ox steadily improving.

        Ramsey is not world class.

Arsenal fans should be mature. If Wenger fails to resign Cesc having first option to do so, then he has other ideas. For Barcelona to have off-loaded him means that he has dipped in form, forget about his family being in London. When Cesc wanted to join his boy hood club, where was his family? Besides cesc is a professional who must make a living whilst his legs carry him and besides, he cannot reject himself when the club he presented himself to, rejected him. In my own opinion, Wenger should have signed Cesc knowing full well that Mourinho did it to slight him. The signing is political , to cause dis-affection between Wenger and the Arsenal fans. So fans shine your eyes.

It’s not rocket science, they didn’t deem him worth 30 million. Chelsea can still afford to pay over the odds, their gamble can pay off (unlike Torres for instance) and they get a buzz and publicity. Arsenal can’t afford to risk that kind of money just for the bonus of the buzz of Cesc coming back and making the fans happy, at least that’s not their model. Cesc is worth about 20-25 mil now, so Arsenal would be paying 5-10 extra. Can’t fault Cesc at all btw, he wanted to come back to London and he wanted to come back to Arsenal but they didn’t want him, so what’s the alternative, would it be better if he went to Tottenham. Just hope he ends up being a Torres flop there instead of a Luiz or Ramires good buy
