Bacary Sagna Has Officially Told Arsenal He’s Leaving – Report

By on May 27, 2014

Sky Sports News are reporting this evening that Bacary Sagna has officially told Arsenal that he’s rejected our final contract offer and is leaving the club.

The Frenchman has been expected to quit when his contract expires next month after failing to come to terms over an agreement over an extension, and he said earlier this week that he was “90 per cent” certain he’d be leaving this summer.

However, Sky Sports claim that Sagna has now confirmed in writing to Arsenal that has rejected our final contract offer and intends to leave on a free transfer at the end of June.

It’s understood we had offered the 31-year-old a two year deal worth £90,000-a-week with the option of a third year, but that didn’t meet Sagna’s demands and he can get a better deal elsewhere.

Manchester City are the most likely destination with the Citizens believed to be willing to offer a three-year contract worth well over £100,000-a-week, and I think Arsenal are right not to match them.

Bac’s been a loyal servant but there’s no way he warrants that kind of deal, but it will be a real shame if he goes to City and sits on the bench as he’s unlikely to get in ahead of Pablo Zabaleta on a regular basis.

But that will be his problem, Arsenal need to move on and fill the right-back void as soon as possible, with Serge Aurier looking the most likely replacement.

No great loss.. He’s been a good player over the years but not top class. has never been able to cross and slow to get back when teams are on the counter. I suppose I would move jobs if someone offered me more money to sit on my arse watching someone else do my mine which is probably what will happen when he joins citeh so can’t blame him but won’t particularly miss him as long as we replace him with quality as Jenkinson is not ready yet to be first choice.

Have to admit that I would be amazed if he went to city and considered forgoing CL football. I can see City retaining and listing Richards in their CL squad – Sagna could well be squeezed out.

Thank you, and goodbye. Sagna gave good service at Arsenal. But his time is up(at 31), he has to go for a last big payday before retiring.
Now Wenger can fill the spot with a younger, faster and a more combative version at the position.

I think it’s a great shame, obviously going to another EPL club will not bode well for feelings between him and the fans. I don’t think he wanted to make the move and it has been done for money and outside influences.

It is not possible for sagna to leave the gunners wenger you should add sagna’s money to 100m . If sagna leave the club the gunners will not find a good right back like him.if not a will like say goodby sagna wish you good luck for your time in man city
