Wenger Holds Fabregas Talks As Arsenal Look To Trigger €29m Clause

By on May 2, 2014

Arsene Wenger has already spoken with Cesc Fabregas on the phone about a potential return to Arsenal as the club explore the possibility of trigger a €29m buy-back clause in the midfielders contract this summer, according to reports today.

Fabregas has endured a difficult season at the Nou Camp this campaign and has been jeered by his own fans at times with the 26-year-old being singled out as a scapegoat for the Catalans poor season.

He’s cut a frustrated figure at times in recent months and although he’s made over 40 starts for the club, he’s often played out of position and has been substituted 27 times this season. With just two years left on his contract, it seems Cesc is at a crossroads in his career and a sensational move back to Arsenal could now be a real possibility.

Barcelona are set to overhaul their squad after a poor season and Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claimed on Twitter that Barca are now ready to listen to offers for the midfielder. In addition, Goal are reporting that we have already ‘explored’ the possibility of triggering a €29m buy-back clause that we inserted into his contract when we sold him three years ago, and Cesc is believed to be open to the idea of leaving his boyhood club for the second time.

Arsene hinted last year that he had been told Cesc was prepared to ‘give it another year’ at Barcelona when rumours emerged last summer that he could be sold, and things have gotten worse for him over the past 12 months.

Goal also claim that Arsene has now spoken to Fabregas several times on the phone about a potential move back to North London so a deal could really be on the cards.

Ivan Gazidis worked hard to get a water-tight clause inserted into his deal so that we not only had the option to buy him back at a fixed price should they want to sell, but Barca also have to inform us if another clubs makes a bid and give us first refusal.

The report does suggest that Manchester United will make another attempt to lure him to Old Trafford after embarrassing themselves last summer with two failed attempts. However, Fabregas has previously said that he could only ever see himself playing for Arsenal if he left Barca again, so I can only see him coming back to us if he does move this summer.

It would be a sensational move if it does come off and I’d be delighted to see it happen. Cesc is one of the most creative players in Europe and we’d certainly be a better team with him in the side. Debates have already started on Twitter about how he could potentially fit in, but trust me, Arsene will find a way to get him in the side!

Well have to see how this develops but I have a funny feeling we could see the return of Cesc Fabregas to Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal fans are the worse in the world of football, they are unable even to make a quick assesment of why we fail to win trophies, one of the reason is that we don’t have enough world class players to compete for places in all departments, plus the injuries, look at the striking area Giroud is like a king no one to disturb him regardless of his lack of talent. If we’re to compete with top tiers we must buy players and let them fight 4places. Ramsey raised this seasons after the arrival of Ozil. Heee’ you don’t even look at ths side? I am starting to warry about their understandng.

    New-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs

Rather him play and get his break through than have the cnt who left us as a captain and a majorly needed player come straight back in the XI

I would have Fabregas over Wilshere every day – Wilshere neither defends very well nor creates enough chances i my opinion….

Come home Cesc!!! Cesc, Rambo and Ozil as a 3 in midfield!! Aww mannnn!!! That would be just too good!!! Also think we should buy back Carlos Vela who has proved himself in Spain, he knows Arsenal as well as anybody so would fit right in straight away and is now a proper goal scorer! Can also play on the wings so could be a very useful player! We could get both those players for a combined fee of £30mil!! Thats insane as Cesc is probably worth £40m/£50m and Vela £15m/£20m.

I don’t think Arsenal needs this player now. Because Arsenal has several quality players can play center of the field even if they are injury prone. Arsenal need a deadly striker and very strong defensive midfielder now.

We need his quality, when fully fit arsenal are excellent but look what happened when we lost Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere and Walcott we were ver poor.

We need first a back up keeper and I like Kesper Schmicheal a lot should light a fire under Szcesney. Another Center Back Ferdinand on a free to sit on the bench would be good. we obviously need to sign a right back and I like the look of Serge Aurier. Then another Holding mid lars bender would be great but there lots of options out there like Gustavo, M’Vila and so on. Then Cesc, with Ox and Zelalem possibly making more starts next season we should not see the Arsenal we saw from January to April ever again no penetration no threat.

Then we need another Walcott type player and I like the noises Vela’s making in the Spanish league so bring him back and with Podolski, Walcott, Vela and Gnabry like Zelalem getting more game time the wide positions are looking good. Then blow a large chunk of cash on a world class striker jury’s still out on Costa for me I’m not 100% convinced of his quality yet but I haven’t seen him play a lot .

I would like to see Benzema and perhaps a cheeky bid of say 10 mil for Torres as well. I think Real will make a big move for Suarez this summer particularly if they win the champions league so Benzema would be moved on. Torres would be lethal for us the way we play football suits him the way anti football Chelsea play he’s never quite fitted in he was just a luxury sign by Chelsea flexing their muscles and weakening a rival.

      And our team:

      Szcesney, Schmichael (Free), Martinez

Aurier (10 million), Jenkinson, Gibbs, Monreal

      BFG, Koscielny, Vermealen, Ferdinand (Free)

      Bender (24million), Flamini, Arteta

      Cesc (24million), Ramsey, Wilshere

      Ozil, Cazorla, Zelalem, Ox

      Walcott, Podolski, Vela (3million), Gnabry

Benzema (27 million), Giroud, Torres (10 million), Sanogo

      Total Spend = 98 million

There is nothing to triger on Fabregas’s contract, Arsene Wenger knows how much they will pay if they want Fabregas back to Arsenal. When Fabregas joined Barcelona from Arsenal, there was an agreement on his contract that, should Barcelona want to sell Fabregas, Arsenal will get the first chance to sign him before any other clubs. Arsenal will only pay 25 million pounds, to take him back. The agreement was reached, when Barcelona did not meet the required required price.

We need his quality, when fully fit arsenal are excellent but look what happened when we lost Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere and Walcott we were ver poor. I agree with Wenger we need to strengthen so I think 3 possibly 4 if we don’t lose any players and Fabianski and Sagna sign on if not we have to ad an extra 5-6 players.

We need first a back up keeper and I like Kesper Schmicheal a lot should light a fire under Szcesney.
